I started out as an artist in the fashion industry. It’s funny you chose that ( analogy? )
Thank you for taking the time.
I guess I don’t yet have a playstyle as I’m still learning everything but I am attracted by PvP and I often think about ganking situations in my head. I play EVE for the pew-pew, yes I’m simple like that, and so far killing NPCs satiates that thirst but I know it won’t be enough for long until I jump on some unwary victim and empty her of her bloo- ahem- sorry…
As someone learning German, I also have many experiences struggling with compound words.
Also, very funny about the fashion coincidence! If you ever go for pods and collect corpses, I am sure your collection would be dressed well. If CCP would ever let us show off our ice chests full of dead bodies.
If we still had captain’s quarters ( I’m mad that I never experienced that ) the bodies could be put on display in glass vats, a bit like the Collector does in the Guardians of the Galaxy film but in a big hangar, row after row like a meat packing plant
I would agree. Ganking is a good tool for teaching. Removing ganking removed the incentive to learn basic mechanics like d-scanning and paying attention to local.
I agree. Without ganking space wouldn’t be interesting. PvP is a major part of what makes this game unique and ganking is the cherry on the cake, and I say this knowing full well that I’ll lose quite a few ships before I get the hang of it. So what.
D-scan is still on my study, I have no comments on that.
I have local minimized right bottom center of the screen, I can’t but see it. I wonder what technology would permit a pilot to know exactly who is in a solar system when his ship/capsule can’t detect a ship more than 1 AU. Does d-scan give the amount of info we see in Local?
Funny you should mention that. There is an overlay program called EvE’s Pirate’s Little Helper.
What it does is that you click on it, and press ctrl-c and it searches everyone on the local list. It then lists them and links any that are in the same corp and alliance. It also will list their kill to loss ratio and implement an icon for quick identification. A little bear for a carebear, a gun for a ganker, a cross hair for e-war/logi pilots. It lists their most used ship and their last ship win and loss (what ship they were in) It searches their zkillboard and if you click on the name it opens their zkillboard.
It is an amazing tool.
Coupled with your d-scanner you can logically deduce who is in what ship.
There are more and more FW crybears calling to remove pvp from low sec and limit it to only faction warfare. I think that’s daft.
PvP is a core value of the game and should remain. From high sec war deccing (the old mechanic) to low sec piracy to mixing up null and forcing the complacent krabbers to fight to hold their territory.
No, I think he’s making a great point, and I agree with him.
We should usher EVE into its third decade with a new set of modern aggression rules in line with the norms that contemporary gamers expect from their digital entertainment:
High-sec
– PvP disabled completely
Low-sec
– PvP flag needs to be turned on before that player or their assets can be engaged without CONCORD interference
– FW members can freely engage each other inside complexes only
Null-sec
– PvP flag needs to be turned on before that player or their assets can be engaged without CONCORD interference
– PvP flag needs to be turned on before anyone can engage in sovereign warfare (e.g. taking/defending structures required for sovereignty)
Wormholes/Pochven
– All players can freely engage each other anywhere except on wormholes entrances to k-space, which are protected by CONCORD
– Asset safety functions implemented for structures
