Is that also true for the causual pve player in low, null (known as krabbers) and WH players?
If it’s exhausting for the high sec casual, I can’t imagine how draining it is for these people.

Looks like I’m gonna have to do this yet again. Here we go…random check for Ventures killed in highsec today…
Killed by NPCs…6
Killed by player…4
And, once again, the NPC kills outnumber the player kills.
How’s that learning curve coming along ? I mean, with a ‘softer’ learning curve I’d expect fewer NPC kills. Why are there zero threads about the greater number of Ventures killed by NPCs ?
High sec NPCs are so toxic. They should be banned from the game.
They love PvE…even though it kills more noob Ventures than PvP. That is precisely the sort of thing the word doublethink was coined to describe.
The problem is, how to protect the poor noobs, and casual players.
If NPCs are blowing up all the hard work these people put into their ships, with absolutely no reconciliation, this is a serious problem.
And let’s be real here. It’s not the NPC. It’s the A.I.
It’s a serious problem and should be removed from high sec.
Yes, I think this is within CCP power given the recent docking overlay. We can’t expect them to do gameplay changes, but more popups and graphical crap, that should be possible.
We just need more overlays and confirmation popups.
Uncking needs a consent and needs to warn player that he might lose his ship if he does that. Then all the problems will be solved, won’t they?
I wonder how many times you’ll make this same argument before you realize that it doesn’t work. I’m not even opposed to ganking existing, but the argument that it’s fine because some people lose ventures to NPCs too (and strangely, a lot of the people losing them are in your coalition) is just a terrible argument.
Lots. Just to annoy you.
There is nothing strange about that. AO is one of the largest corps out there. And with a large population of players, the number of failures will also increase.
That’s statistics for you.
It’s a bit more advanced, and we could go into the amount of time leadership spends training their folks, and then of course there’s the question of those folks actually caring enough to implement the teachings. But I fear it might be too much for a simple minded 12 year old inmate such as myself. And it just opens a whole muddy muck pit of semantics and we all know how much you love throwing that slop around and I just don’t have the time to get into it with you. License plates don’t press themselves you know!
Is that what’s supposed to be happening? I’m supposed to be annoyed when people make bad arguments?
Yes…spend the whole day being annoyed with yourself.
Hey…don’t let the facts get in the way of an Elizabet ‘truth’ in which random fantasy is plucked out of the air whilst the actual facts ( such as the Venture kills I mentioned ) are dismissed as irrelevant.
Facts are subjective
It’s not random fantasy when the fantasizer identifies as it being “truth” and “reality.”
That’s how you get rid of pesky “facts.” That go against your narrative. Simply dismiss it as irrelevant!
You’re nose is growing
We might need @ Ramona McCandless to verify.
Nah. They will complain after their inevitable ship destruction that:
“They didn’t see it.”
Or
“I don’t read that stuff.”
Or
“I just click whatever to play.”
Notwithstanding, these people will make excuses to cover their ineptitude. And worse, some people will use them as evidence and justification for removing high sec pvp. They don’t actually care about these people. Their troubles just make a nice convenient justification for their social peacocking.
You don’t need her.

There is just so much misdirection going on in here it is starting to make everybody annoyed.
I miss @Ramona_McCandless , AND @Shipwreck_Jones btw.
As to the Q from OP: the answers after two decades of EvE are too obvious to repeat. Anyone here who has been playing EvE for 10+ years (regardless of forum clown clone) who does not accept ganking as a part of New Eden ? I’d say that those who say they (still) don’t have made a poor choice of game and never became wiser. Those who just recently started playing the game… better get used to it, adjust and adapt.
If any devs or their bosses are reading this, and suffer from deep empathy for alleged ganking victims: we like free choice, we like being responsible for our actions - as long as there is a counter to anything you implement. There is, however, no counter to safety - it would make for an entirely different type of game. Let’s not go there (if that even needed spelling out), but use any “safety” only as an emergency brake in exceptional cases.
Here’s the real problem…
CCP want more players to get past the first weeks/months of the game. Which is fine and a good idea. BUT, at the same time CCP overlook that a person’s entire perception of the game changes enormously in that time. Over time…people start to ‘get’ the game more. Things that were not at all apparent as a complete noob start to become clear, and that includes the entire structure and ethos of the ‘cruel universe’. Thus you end up with a situation where the very things that might have put off a new player by their presence in the game become things that deter a slightly older player by their absence from the game.
CCP needs to grasp that, and stop focusing solely on pure noobs and more on the 6 month to year old players who have acclimatised to the game and don’t want to see it made more carebear-ish for the noobs they once were.
