The Case for Catizstag - irrelevant Amarr Militia drama

Simpler solution with less paperwork:

Don’t go there.

It’s not our fault your people can’t speak a civilized language. After all, as it is written…

“Fear not, ye Amarr,
Thy insecurities will be amended.
For those whose tongues
are deft and skilfull
shall labor for your glory
shall bleed for your pride
shall suffer for your anxiety.”

“But should ye yet be weak
and let them break their chains
then woe to thee.
Their mockery and use of vowels
shall cut thine ears
as their artillery shells do cut thine hulls.
And thus shall ye be fooked.”

I’m sure Mitty knew you only chose those ‘for her pleasure’.

You see, when this is the calibre of people who might express an interest in joining, this is why I am very cautious about recruiting people as new members of my church.

Just to re-anchor the conversation on topic, I think Catizstag is a great name candidate. Omiristan by recent polling is still not publicly endorsable to a broad base of the Amarrian leadership, and from the perspective of engagement with the occasionally relevant Matars I think they would relish the opportunity to show their support for the new leader of the peoples who gave them so much at such great expense, and view it as an opportunity for a new way forward and a new beginning with much promise.

I’m sure you do, Blooder.

Why not leave it what it is and call it what ever you feel like? Okkamon, Okay Mom, Arzad, Our Dad, Asakai, *** a guy. whatever.

Words matter. Names matter. Diversity, especially genetic diversity in blood types matter.

Arzad is territory of the Ardishapur demesne. Its name is determined by its ruling Ardishapur lords and no other.

You heard the lady…looks like you’ll just have to take Arzad by force and hold it. Only the one who has conquered has the right to naming or renaming. I look forward to meeting you on the battlefield, Matari.

That might hold some merit as a suggestion if actual conquest was possible. But since the entire Pendulum Game is just a CONCORD-sponsored bloodsport and not a real war…

I believe flipping a system, is, in fact, conquest, simply a more refined and civilized variety of it.

Not even close. The system’s ownership is not settled, but rather still assigned to be one of the positions to fight over in the Games.

That’s not ‘conquest’, that’s entertainment.

And that’s all your fake war is: entertainment for the ruling classes.

Uh … without totally disagreeing, Arrendis, there’s a certain Holder whose fief is in Tzvi. When the 24IC is in control, he gets to live at home, but he has to move out every time the TLF moves in. I’m not sure of the details, but, he’s definitely not very entertained (more wildly and repeatedly inconvenienced).

I get the impression that by this time the whole thing’s down to a routine: Amarrian government hands off control to Republic authority as TLF rolls in and goes home to lie low for a couple months; Republic authority leaves part-time Amarrian officials be (they know they’ll need to hand control back at some point and there’s no need to be petty) and runs things for a bit, then hands the offices back to the Amarr as the 24IC retakes the system and the Holder moves back into his residence.

At least, that’s my impression of how it’s been working. It wouldn’t surprise me if stuff like that’s been cropping up in any system that changes hands regularly. Most people get to just live where they live, except the Holder and his family and some close retainers.

There’s a change of management for a while. It’s not nothing, but, it’s not hugely disruptive anymore if it was at the start.

But, it’s still not nothing.

Pft. Unless you’re actually enrolled in the Pendulum Pretense, there’s no change of much of anything. You can summarize the entire impact it has on a single switch button in the stations, flipping docking rights between TLF and 24thIC. Given the age of Citadels, not even that impacts anything of any worth.

The Pendulum Pretense is a poorly disguised game, and pretending it’s more at this point is just playing for the gallery.

What is conquest but entertainment for somebody, somewhere? Nothing real ever comes from the control itself, As Aria pointed out, people continue to just try to live the same kinds of lives despite whatever the people above them are plotting…

The CONCORD system is perfect, and it’s fair…wars should always be fought this way, from now on, within the Empyrean Age. It reduces baseliner casualties to a bare minimum. Most of us solo pilot frigates which have no crew. If either side was able to hold it for a continuous amount of time, permanent assignment of sovereignty would be discussed by CONCORD.

Finally, what’s wrong with entertainment? The most dangerous part of eternity is the boredom…

Well clearly, he’s not nearly as ‘ruling class’ as he likes to think he is, is he? Poor little Amarr Holder. It must suck to be reminded that he’s as insignificant to the Throne as the rest of humanity.

No it wouldn’t. There are systems in the Gal/Cal warzone that went multiple years without being flipped. There was never any talk of pulling them from the ‘war’. CONCORD designed this situation to be unwinnable, and the people who cheer on your successes and snicker at your failures all agreed that yes, spending lives on achieving nothing was a good way to keep you busy.

Wouldn’t want you actually trying to use your wealth, visibility, and military and organizational abilities to make real changes, after all.

If that’s where you are… if you’re already reduced to seeking ‘entertainment’… you’re already bored, and just flailing for ways to hide it from yourself. Just like you’re trying to hide from yourself how utterly meaningless your efforts are. It’s pitiable.
