The cost of suicide ganking is too low

That’s literally the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen from any ag, and I’ve seen a lot of stupid stuff…

You might as well delete highsec and get the same result :joy:

What improvements would that offer for the would-be anti-ganker?

Deleting HS is a very different thing than reducing the security rating requirement for free aggression in HS.

0 security rating is an intuitive/rational margin to set it at.

Highsec is only for the goodest of boys and girls.

Reducing the security rating rate to 0 would mean HS entities can aggress and engage known criminals interloping on their space, without CONCORD involvement.

This returns the security paradigm into player hands, rather than relying on CONCORD as an NPC entity as a solely reactionary response.

It would also mean that rookies will be ■■■■■■
And most freighter pilots
And most of ag
And most of the population

Great thinking

Wrong.

They all start out with a 5 security rating.

You are apparently confusing security rating, with faction/corp rating.
They are not the same thing, and completely different mechanics.

No no no
You want a 5.0 sec status, you gotta earn it
Just like those who want a -10.0 tag, they work for it

Your argument is invalid

You dont need to earn it.
You start out with it.

Every character ever created in EVE has/had a 5.0 security rating until they performed actions that either increased it or decreased it.

And what about those of us who have a 5.0+ sec status? Hmm?

You talk before you think…
Might want to think your idea and all the impacts it would have

Then the change will have no impact on you, except that you will be able to aggress 0 Security rating players in HS without CONCORD interference or security status loss.

Yeah, Im pretty sure.

Am I wrong?

The first link I could find about it said otherwise:

All new pilots start at a security rating of 0, the scale itself ranging from 10 to -10.

Except that the work I put into it will be lost

GG

Ill test it now by creating a new alt.

Brb.

Work into what?

Getting my sec status to 5.0?
What have we been talking about for the last 20-30 posts?

Either way, the impact of your proposed change means that gankers that have an interest in maintaining their security status will use their 15 minute downtime to fly to the nearest CONCORD office and tag themselves back over 0.0 security standings, (instead of once they hit -2.0 or lower, and then buy the tags in bulk) while -10 gankers will continue to do things as they always have. Then all of the people who do stuff like the occasional roams into low will suddenly need to either tag themselves or grind everytime they want to roam so they don’t get harassed in Highsec.

I was wrong. New toons have a 0 sec status.

Nonetheless, the point of my suggestion was to reduce the threshold of HS aggression against known criminals via reducing the sec status required to engage them without CONCORD involvement.

Despite my mistake in integer, that remains true.
