A lot of you probably saw my recent poem on the forums about the Snuff drops and that Ragnarok titan getting absolutely deleted. It was a massive, beautiful kill, the kind of space history that makes this game great. As someone who’s always loved the lore, the roleplay, and the creative side of New Eden, I did exactly what capsuleers used to do for decades. I honored the wreck.
I took that handwritten poem and dropped it into the official EVE Online Discord, thinking people might actually appreciate some original content for once. What happened next wasn’t some normal debate about fits, drop tactics, or how Snuffed Out managed to pull it off. No. It was just a pathetic, coordinated pile-on by the General Chat mob. Just a wall of pure, toxic garbage. They couldn’t even process what they were looking at, so they just chose to drag a creative player right down into the mud with them.
Honestly, modern Discord culture has degenerated into pure, weaponized stupidity. The exact second these guys encounter a real human being with an actual vocabulary—someone who wants to write something deeper than a two-word Reddit meme—their collective inferiority complex just breaks. They literally can’t handle it. Their behavior is so predictable and toxic.
First, they have this genuine fear of intellect. Because their own communication is basically limited to screaming slurs, spamming ugly reaction GIFs, and typing “lmao,” they literally can’t comprehend that a regular gamer can actually write. To their tiny, literal minds, anyone who understands basic grammar, cadence, and rhyming must be a bot. Seriously. They project their own total illiteracy onto everyone else, yelling “AI!” because they’re terrified of their own intellectual emptiness. If it’s not a screenshot of a zKillboard link, their brains just short-circuit.
Then comes the classic “bring them down” mentality. Instead of just ignoring what they don’t get, the hive-mind goes straight into primitive bully mode. They desperately try to label art as “cringe” or “weirdo behavior.” Why? Because it’s the only way they can cope with being completely unoriginal. They can’t make anything decent themselves, they don’t contribute a single cool thing to the community, so their only real hobby is trying to stomp on someone else’s work.
This is the literal loss of EVE’s soul. This game was built on player-written books, epic poems, legendary propaganda art, and grand narratives. Alliance tournaments and massive wars used to be fueled by writers. But today’s Discord dwellers are turning this glorious sci-fi sandbox into a generic, toxic nursery. They want everyone to be a brainless F1 monkey in a giant blob who only knows how to cycle guns and shut up. The moment a real author speaks up, they start throwing stones from behind their keyboards like frightened cavemen seeing fire for the first time.
To the salty individuals who spent all of yesterday trying to bully me, insult my style, and try to “decode” my verses: you didn’t look tough at all. You just looked profoundly stupid. You basically signed a public confession that a basic poem about a burning Titan is a superpower your organic brain cells can’t process.
Go ahead, try to drag talent down all you want. You’re going to fail. My verses will easily outlive your temporary Discord tantrums. That burning titan is now immortalized in art, whether your fragile egos like it or not.
If the community team wants to know why the social atmosphere of this game is rotting, they don’t need to look at the game servers. Just look at the absolute bottom-dwellers sitting in the Official Discord General Chat. Keep malding, keep crying “AI,” and thanks for proving that the biggest danger in New Eden isn’t pirate fleets or capital drops—it’s the tragic decay of basic human intelligence in our official communication channels.
