It’s not an event. It’s here to stay. Like, the system above will stay pseudo lowsec until players either push it to pseudo nullsec or back to highsec.
There will be people who don’t care about systems dropping to lowsec. They will offer hauling services through it, or just do it themselves for the increased profits. They’ll have the upper hand compared to those who have to go the long route.

Many people here share something significant with Balos, without even realizing …
… and you’re one of those people.
The worst part is that even in six months, when obviously that which you believed will happen did not happen, you will still stay exactly the same. You will have the same attitude, you will defend the same positions and you will keep repeating yourself over and over and over again, just within different contexts using slightly different words, but always trying to communicate the same message.

Why yes, because islands now are so full of customers right?

It’s not self defeating to actually look at something realistically.
I mean ok sure, there will be a few customers, there might be room for someone to turn a profit. But there is not going to be anything large scale going on, when talking on a game wide scope, there will be no customers, and there will be no trade on scale.
This of course is contingent on if highsec gets cut into parts. So duh, if Highsec doesn’t get cut into parts of course it won’t happen.
That’s because the underlying thought stays the same: “anything that increases effort or risk is bad”.

My “dream” of having the 4 high sec faction areas all on their own HS island with a band of low sec between them (more so between opposing factions, less so between allied factions) might just come true at some point.
I think this security flipping mechanism is pretty interesting. Tho if it means more gate camps by Russians, then eh.
