I am spread myself all over.
I hope not in too many tiny pieces.
Youre a good lad, really.
The change is in CONCORD response rather than absolute status. So Raravoss is still a 0.6 system but with CONCORD responding (or not) as a 0.3 system. I.e no response to banking beyond gate guns and timers.
So, push a lo-sec system into a >0.5 CONCORD response? lo-sec ore and anomalies but with retribution for ganking feels where it could be. It’ll be a mad rush of the risk adverse.
But I suspect that’s not going to happen - it doesn’t make a lot of sense: EDENCOM build a base and suddenly CONCORD start policing lo-sec.
It’s much more likely that this mechanic will be used to disrupt lazy business as usual in hi-sec the same way resource shortages and changes across the whole of New Eden will.
Eve should have s sense of adventure, of risk and excitement - I do like this change. I may not actively engage in the invasions, but I like the impact it has in making space feel a little less safe and predictable.
If you need a new ship skin, allow me to be it.
What will be balanced after a low sec system becomes a high sec system?
Just wondering is there anything known on what happens when Trigs reach the final stage. They after all stellar miners ( aside Code go do your job they dont have a licence ) can they mine a star out, can a system cease to exist?
Do they close of the gates and the system becomes a sort of wormhole system you have to scan into? Or for that matter for the people in system when the change happens will you have to use a wormhole to get out?
Well one of High Sec systems had already been flipped, so somewhere on the other side has to automatically flip a low sec system.
ok, a bunch of players who are not organised, some/many/all possibly have only rudimentary pvp skills and knowledge of fitting pvp ships
Vs
large lowsec corps/alliances that have been doing this stuff for years
I feel compelled to ask;
If this is so, what is it about highsec that means there are not any large high sec corps/alliances that have been doing this for years?
Bear in mind, I dont believe it is so, just a handy boogieman to hang the one single loss so far on.
Why does flipping it to high-sec need a special reason for you to agree to but flipping high to low is fine for no reason other than someone gets to shoot hi-sec players. Which was all you heard when this change was announced.
Its funny because the existing low-sec systems with invasions are devoid ot players helping Trig forces because then they would have to fight pirates, those players in low who will shoot anyone.
Looks to me shooting at hi-sec is preferred for the easy kills. Nothing more. This has been very much proven with this change.
Abha 0.4 - Edencom
Keri 0.4 - Edencom
Esaeel 0.1 - Edencom
Only contested system is the former Hi-Sec system Ravaross.
Fasse, Alamel, and Faswiba are existing low-sec sytems and they are moving towards Edencom.
Conclusion - The only reason to flip high to low was to harass hi-sec players
Because the mechanics of highsec for the most part actually punish grouping in highsec.
Wardecs until very recently meant any large corp worked under a permanent wardec, at which point the rewards of highsec were not worth a permanent level of risk.
Content in highsec also does not encourage any kind of grouping.
And the industry bonuses were limited to POS which had restricted slots, or stations which didn’t encourage any kind of grouping, Upwell has slightly improved that but the bonuses in highsec aren’t worth the system index cost of a large corp all working out of the same location, so again, you aren’t encouraged to get to any kind of large size even there.
TLDR version. Highsec mechanics as set by CCP actively discourage large groups in highsec.
the people being offended by wanting low sec to flip to high are missing 1 thing. once miners learn that a low sec now has concord to protect them, they would rush to the system to mine low sec ores which would leave a field of gank targets galore…but apparently not even the gankers want to leave true empire if it meant having a system full of unarmed targets to shoot.
I know a lot of miners that ignore conduit mining and anom mining and go try to ninja mine in low sec, the second they hear a low sec would have concord response they’d rush to it.
#MakeJitaGreatAgain : plunge it to null-sec !!!
Why would anybody take the trouble of flipping a system when another one is flipped automaticly to the other side? Do I deduct correctly you either:
- Don’t want this invasion stuff at all and it needs to go completely, or
- A perfectly safe high sec, or
- People don’t play the game anymore because what use is there if stuff flips automaticly left and right in the game
Looking forward to your choice.
You cant flip a low-sec system to high.
Sec changes atm are one way. High to low…nothing else.
Low-sec owned by Edencom is still low-sec.
High-sec owned by Trigs is now low-sec.
Change is one way.
Right, so maybe then the complainant should be lobbying for the changes they want.
I hear SICO are standing in CSM this year.
Yeah… Lets just say I’m strongly believing them being a feeder alliance for certain people in Null.
And if CCP haven’t figured out by now that highsec mechanics don’t reward grouping I’m not exactly thinking that any CSM voices can sway that. It’s only been a topic for ten+ years.
I was in Brave Newbies for a bit till I realized they were being fed to the big null blocks.
Some senior members even got drunk and boasted about selling…I should say ripping off new players in the corp.
Maybe they should learn to organize instead of whining on the forums every time they come up against any adversity.
I don’t think this is really as strong a factor as you’re saying. Wars, industry restrictions, etc, are obstacles that can be overcome by large and organized groups. IMO the much bigger factor is that organized groups just don’t care about highsec very much. If you are willing to invest effort in having a large corp why settle for the lowest-reward space? There’s a lot of incentive to move out of the tutorial area, so the only players who stay in highsec (outside of market alts) are the ones who only care about minimum-effort solo farming.
In highsec systems… rotfl
Only one system has downgraded so far.
It gets even better : by default edencom wins so trigs need help. And you first need to drop sec status of system by helping trigs which is hours of dedicated grinding. While the system is in stellar reconnaissance state all you need is smallish pve fleet of cruisers… and here is the question: where are all those big pve corporations that do nothing but farm in hisec? Answer: complaining about ONE system being flipped.
Hisec is not exactly tutorial area… but too many people do treat it as one.
