The whole packs strategy is just gross. They should consider hiring marketing people who actually play.
If increasing subs and player count (not just login count) is part of their expectation, I’m pretty sure they will be sorely disappointed.
$20 for 285mil/isk? I can buy 500 plex for $25 get 1.4 bil/isk for it and not have to login every day and see empty system after empty system while looking for pvp content.
18 years and CCP still don’t understand the game that pays their wages
Headline; CCP implement “welfare state” in an attempt to generate activity.
Most of which comes from mission running in high sec, Incursions, or ratting in null sec. There’s a select few that plex thier accounts with ISK exclusively from activities that doesn’t inject ISK from thin air into the economy.
Dude you don’t have to accept the isk. They’re not forcing you. Quit trying to look so moral, you’re not fooling anyone.
Really don’t like it? Take the isk and give it to someone who could use some help. Do something good with it. Like, nobody cares if you’re so offended by free isk.
but it’s really no different than a 10 or 20 percent discount on a one month Omega - so it’s not actually a big deal, right?
Frostpacker currently swimming in ISK
FYI sweetheart, you can login and play without redeeming anything.
There is also an option to not show the rewards screen upon logging in.
Happy to help, have a wonderful day.
Prices will rise combined with the current industry situation with scarcity. I think in Q4 as CCP announced we might get some more supply to lower these high prices. Really excited to see what happens in the fall but this I think will just be temporary.
More people buying ships that could be destroyed is possible. Driving CCP’s goal of scarcity (to burn mineral stockpiles?)
I think overall destruction will go up with all this ISK around.
An economist could really help EXPLAIN why it is actually very much different than it looks on the face comparison. But I’m not one, and CCP don’t have one anymore after professor left.
To put it in perspective, all ISK/Minerals(Raw Resources alike) in game are supposedly generated by the interaction with “Environment” (I know you appear to hate PVE carebears, but that’s where the faucet are and admittingly you also participate in these kind of activities)
This interaction will be probably explained better that the underlying “COST” is “TIME” spent on such interactions.
A discount on the Omega state subscription only have its effect on REDUCING this COST as much as it is possible for one to generate / complete the interaction within certain period (and for the duration of ACTIVE OMEGA state that one has obtained at a discount). If one doesn’t interact, the BENEFIT of COST REDUCTION is “0”
An airdrop of cash (ISK) in this instance, means as long as it’s redeemed, the money is injected into the game economy (INCREASING MONEY SUPPLY) at a COST-TIME coefficient = 0, They may increase spending, but (Quoted by Reserve Bank Australia) if not CAREFULLY MANAGED ( and I very much like to point out that “CAREFULLY MANAGED” is not something you’ll probably ever see from CCP’s current management given their track record) … it will cause INFLATION (which in itself is not a bad thing but —>) to spiral OUT OF CONTROL.
Eve Online’s sandbox was attractive to ones like me because it USED to mimic the real-world economy a lot more closer (A True Spaceship/Economy SIM). It was worth every money and time spent indulging one in a virtual economy that you can actually cause much touted “BUTTERFLY EFFECT”, “Everything You Do Have Consequences” … etc.
Now, Cost Coefficient of 0 means RISK FREE Money, = NO Consequences.
= DEAD Sandbox
Anyone found a bank key yet?
I don’t.
But that is exactly what I’d say if I had found.
And I suspect that many people would say even less.
Actually I usually buy the packs that contain a good sizable amount of SP’s. Mainly because using skill injectors just isn’t worth it for my character.
The ISK cost of an injector with the SP exchange rate for characters with over 80 mil SP’s is a rip-off. The injector is filled with 500,000 SP’s (same amount available in the pack) yet only delivers 150,000 SP’s when injected into characters with +80 mill SP’s.
Currently in-game the lowest cost of a Large Injector is over 600 mill ISK. For my character to get the full amount of 500,000 SP’s, I’d need to use at least 4x Injectors, which would end up giving me an extra 100,000 SP’s.
The cost for 4x injectors is 2,480,000,000 ISK.
Highest in-game buy price for PLEX is 2,700,000 ISK.
I’d have to sell 919 PLEX to get 2,481,300,000 ISK to buy 4x Injectors to get 500,000 SP’s currently offered in the pack.
So to get 919 PLEX to sell on Market for ISK so I can buy the 4x Injectors for 500,000 SP’s, I’d have to buy the 1,100 PLEX pack from CCP for $39.99.
The current pack with 500,000 SP’s costs $14.99 which is close to 1/3rd the price of the PLEX pack, and much less trouble and hassle for me to get the full 500,000 SP’s, especially since my character currently has well over 250 mill SP’s.
I’m not trying to sell you on buying packs, just showing you why I think they’re worth it for me to buy. Plus those SP packs can only be bought once per account, which I think sux cuz there’s 3 character slots per account and you can’t split up the SP’s from the pack.
Anyway, I’d buy that pack except for this statement in the description of the Cerebral Accelerator:
Limited to characters younger than 14 days.
EDIT:
I bought the pack anyway, hopefully I can just sell the Cerebral Accelerator on the Market.
It’s 7 days free ISk, I could understand the stir if now we could find free checkes in loot crates from
npc drops… now that would be interesting… but it ain’t happening soo…
Of course only lev4 missions or up, or Alphas would go berzerk…
I mean if their intent is to increase player base they need some raw cure…
Getting BS prices down…mmmhh… yeah… french fries on pudding… we want ketchup!
Thanks but I already know what’s available.
You have already purchased this pack. There is a limit of one purchase per account.
I wish I could return to Eve and I think recent news is a step in the right direction, less stick more carrot, but CCP are intentionally designing away from my playstyle (null sec line member). They’ve made 4 of my 5 accounts useless despite the years of sub payments I put into them (cap and indy accounts).
I can’t trust a company that will do that on a whim, I could resub now and skill up some other activity only to see it totally gutted in 12 months’ time. I just don’t have any trust in the CCP design approach, but still good to see some positive changes for once.
LOVE the fact this makes the TTT obsolete.
You can buy almost anything with Plex, you just need to know the right people.
That’s alright darling I realise the source of compulsion was not made clear in that text.
What the hell? Now I would really like to know if you can move supers into that site via gates or via warping around to get the grid edge.
