If we shall reward people for writing a blog and made a crop that was dedicated to high sec ganking before any one else did well then why not put up several status of Donald trump because he achieved being the worst president USA ever had.
I played eve for 14 years and to me James and hes band of misfits mean jack ■■■■ and has not influenced eve what so ever. I would say Goons has had more influence on eve that code ever will.
If goons did something big it could affect eve big time while if code did something you would a few bitchy miners complaining on the forum.
So, I guess we can just discount the trillions of ISK in freighters and blinged-out L4 mission ships they’ve ganked over the years? CODE is the reason every shipping corp in high sec has to have escorts or change their route. When you enter a system and everyone that isn’t AFK docks up or says “CODE is in system” in local chat, that’s when you know you’ve affected a great many players…
But back on topic, it’s a pity the blog stops, even though I have nothing to do with CODE. It is/was a good blog. Whether one likes their choice of play style or not, CODE. is definitely a part of Eve’s culture like many other groups, and as such deserves some respect for their impact on the game. Whatever the reason for stopping the blog, I hope a solution is found. The number of good Eve blogs has been declining over the years, despite the game being alive and kicking ass.
There comes a time when the blog is pointless as nobody cares to read it.
Maybe people did once. But then Eve Radio was also a thing. I remember Funky Bacon and his roams. Good times.
While Grrr CODE. admittedly it’s just a sign of Eve ever more becoming a browser game. There’s not much player flavor… even in the case of CODE. it probably tasted like jock straps… Lots of other things long gone and forgotten. Like tears in the rain indeed.
The game looks good and has much interesting new content, but it’s the players mainly. Krabs and min/maxers. Even gankers min/max and rage when someone throws a wrench in.
I know a guy who spent 20 years in prison. Should he get a statue for being there every day? Remember, this is NOTHING but a game…just a game, with no real value in the world at all except maybe to those who make a living working for CCP. I never mined so I don’t care. They are a bunch of losers…
I don’t care about CODE either way, never visited that website but frankly the whole schtick was tiring and unoriginal from the beginning so if all they did was just regurgitate the same silly nonsense over and over it’s not surprising.
The whole dumb “funny” stuff just isn’t funny, it never was. It’s mostly just unoriginal people copying and pasting what others said and did before them, it’s boring. I’m just not a fan of “the collective” as a concept, so to speak.
I’m fine with ganking and done it myself although mostly for profit, I’m completely in agreement with taking care of lazies and idiots. I just get tired of Code Drone #483672 repeating the same old non-funny dumb stuff.
If you don’t find it funny, but other people do . . . perhaps the issue lies with you and your inability to appreciate it. Perhaps you are the person that isn’t funny.
And there is the truth about CODE. They’re really just carebears being tryhards but carebears nonetheless who can’t take it.
The basis of Code was really just the following: Really terrible carebear players who joined a massive collective hoping to hide their ineptitude and laziness in the hive and who through sheer bulk, and good leadership, make their life easier and safer and safer. Scared of actual competition. They weren’t pvpers, not really any good and simply stifled any sort of actual competition through their size but yet had the whole peer pressure gimmick thing down stat.
As they surely weren’t going to do pvp that could actually put their grinding livelyhoods at risk they then made alts to shoot people who don’t shoot back but still clinging to the same peer pressure gimmick terribleness. Lots of talk and posing, very little actual capability. Exceptions exist.
I’m fine with ganking. More than fine actually. It’s the clowns that make it pathetic and code et all have lots of clowns. Not surprising as the groups they originally sourced from is full of clowns.
As said I’m not a fan of collectives, that works both ways.
The only player to visit every system, including CCP’s system, having lost no ship… I feel like I’m having Deja-Vu and explained this to you before. I’m sure CCP has a way to see who has or hasn’t been in every system.
