After a slow start not finding many pods at first last week, I’ve now found 34 pods and run 15 sites.
Main loot of note so far… 2 C3-Xs, 2 C3-As, 1 gecko bpc, multiple guristas skins (some way overvalued, they musta been pretty rare before this) such as corax, condor, kestrel, etc… and plenty of OPE (overseer personal effects), a few above 10th tier but mostly 6th to 9th tier range.
Lots and lots of clothes and fireworks and some faction ammo and such as well.
Fun event, good for d-scan training… doing it in rocket coraxes since the gate wouldn’t take my jackdaw. ;D
I think the waves are just random. I’ve seen some rough first and second waves and a lot of easy ones. Waves with 10 ships, waves with just 3 ships. Waves with jammers and logi… waves with just DPS DDs and DPS frigs only, and multiple of each type.
Yeah, the 20% resist nerf for all active/passive shield/armor mods is gonna really test things from today till the 21st, eh?
That rage rocket buff, though. should help to DPS tank the room a bit for my coraxes, at least. ;D
Huntmaster sites seems disabled or bugged after the update.
After entering the 1st gate, there are no enemies and the 2nd gate is inactive, without any possibility to activate it because nobody appears. I have checked two sites with same behavior.
Maybe it’s intended and CCP is “protecting” us because it is impossible to do with the allowed ships after the resistances nerf…
but the update notes didn’t say anything, so probably is a bug.
It seems that my Corax fit is not hit so much with this update. I had these shield resistances before patch: 50%, 63%, 55%, 63% and now after patch I have 49%, 57%, 54%, 62%. Not bad. I think it won’t make any difference when doing Hunt sites.
Tested both in low sec. VIPs are bugged, regular sites at least have enemies, didn’t finished it because I was looking for VIPs, but entered in one to check.
and yeah, Ezra… I don’t anticipate my Coraxes being too affected by this. I’ll probably drop to 30% to the fighter in the 2nd room instead of just 40% to 50% most times is all.
Huntmasters working again, but very hard, my Hawk went to 7% hull on first group, before the update only the boss reached my armor. So take care.
Edit: Have to overload all my modules to kill the boss for a (this time) not better loot than the regular ones that I did yesterday. I don’t think it is worth the risk of pveing in low.
I didn’t changed my fit in this first run, because I want to test the resistances nerf, but I’m not sure it’s that hard, at least for the Hawk, it have some good base resistances.
I said it was hard because the first two waves seems double spawns, after I removed some of them all went fine.
But maybe I change one Ballistic … II for an Assault Damage Control II, after all it’s an Assault Frigate. And then drop the hardener for a shield booster amplifier or something else, maybe a web or a target painter, don’t know.
edit: forget the Assault DC, didn’t see the 150s Reactivation Delay, maybe a regular one
This event has smaller ship classes like Frigates and Destroyers as the focus, so pilots with less experience and fewer skills trained can get involved.
But that’s besides the point. You need a better fit in order to run these sites. New player or not, if your ship is poorly fit, you’re not going to have a good time.
