As the title states, thank you to all the Dev’s and @CCP_Dragon for bringing us ‘The Hunt’.
Despite all the little tweaks being done to it, ‘The Hunt’ is still a challenging, fun, fast paced event. I just passed the 400 point mark and hopefully I can complete 700 points before the ending date.
Anyway, to show our appreciation for getting a full set of both male and female Guristas ‘Outlaw’ Apparel (and a lot of other stuff too), Crimson’s Girl and I created these 2 Imgflip meme’s to honor this event.
I’ve never done any of their events. Not for lack of trying either…but after spending about four hours a day, three days in a row, looking for a single event site in high/low/null, and not finding a single one, I just get burned out on the whole thing (I think that one was Crimson Harvest). I don’t know where the stuff spawns for any given event, but I’m burned out trying to engage in it.
You just have to wait for the events to spawn. They usually spawn every 5-10 minutes. I haven’t seen more than one event in high-sec systems at any given time, though.
Just find a nice quiet little corner of New Eden and have your overview showing Celestial Beacons, should be plenty of sites available. High Sec space only has Guristas Detention Facility which also spawns in Low / Null Sec along with Guristas Transportation Facility.
I would also like to thank CCP for The Hunt, I haven’t actually run it, but the amount of abandoned MTUs and drones throughout highsec has been unreal thus far, and has provided my friends and I with a lot of content.
Though I like the red blood raider clothes more … a big thank you for the event also from my side. Completed it with 500 for me yesterday, as I’m not able to play for the rest.
Overall positive, the hunt had some flaws/problems.
Loot drops was way too much at least in first week, killing the value.
Loot table also looked skewed, adv. accelerators dropped nearly as often than standard ones.
I missed the advanced AI from previous event
Waiting bug and later double boss spawn bug
Chose between PvP or being competitive in the contest
The last one I disliked the most. To win the race you just had to bring the most DPS on field. The huge HP of the boss made battleships competitive, unlike with the last event, where it was more about “fast” DPS. Solo PvP ships lack DPS, and not everybody wants to fly pimped PvP battleships or fight against those.
Talking about highsec here, didn’t try lower sec this time … also because the rewards were not different, why?
Yeah, I have been enjoying the event as well. Our group saw it’s first transport spawn. We went heavy, may be s little too heavy, but it was very fun. Thank you CCP.
It was a fairly fun event site… and not as much danger of getting your ship alphaed as with the Machariel boss in the Guardian’s Gala in February. Anyway, it was especially nice and rewarding while the twin RS bosses were spawning, but once CCP took out the 2nd one that would warp in at range after the one on the beacon died on Tuesday morning at server downtime… kinda killed my enthusiasm. I’ll make it to 400 (on 3 accounts) but it’s just one C3-A per toon, which I already have dozens of. They could have at least made it a C3-X.
Also, the 700 mark just doesn’t even matter. already gotten like 30 extended accels, so what’s 3 more? no incentive for me to hit the final mark, and this will be the first event I haven’t gotten to the final mark in. ;_;
Well, I think having to acquire 700 points is a bit much, especially when all the rewards associated with that are actually dropping as loot in the event sites. Also completing that points spread makes it very tough for casual players who only play during weekends.
Anyway, was talking with some friends in-game about the event site apparel drops and somebody mentioned it would be cool if the rewards for the points spread gave out apparel items associated with your characters Faction with the last final reward being a Faction module.
So instead of just having 4 rewards split up in the points spread, have a reward available after acquiring each 100 points. This event has 700 points needed to complete it which would make that 7 different rewards available. Basically start off with a Cerebral Accelerator, then get a Hat, then Shoes, then Pants, then a Shirt, a Jacket and finally ending with a Faction module, all specific to your characters Faction.
Angel gala sites were more interesting when it comes to NPC settings. Mainly how hard the bosses were and that there is variation of them. I suppose it was changed for gurista because having the same thing over and over would be ultimately boring.
