People seem to want to know the ins and outs so they can farm it easier; personally i’d say to them if you dont like it, dont do it - but ever they are vocal on the forums.

yes, caldari low sec, and venal have vip sites, better loot, stronger enemy + other people
Haven’t run a site yet, but I killed a pod in a Velator with about 15 minutes of scanning (I’m out of practice - it was at a moon - could have gotten it faster with better us of distance filtering). Newbros might be a bit confused at first, but it’s a good way to learn D-scanning. It can almost tank the Civilian guns at my skills, so pure newbros might need something a little bigger.

the funniest thing !!! flew around for a couple of hours found a few capsule went to the site, cleared it entered the second gate and it consumed all the keys i had in my cargo …lol ARGhhhh

First room had 1 cruiser + 5 frigs, then another 6 ships warped in after the first wave. One frig / destroyer against all that is newbro friendly? PLUS the d-scanning?

How did you shoot the wreck without getting concorded?
Same problem here, lost 4 keys
DeLIave Verdun was talking about the pod. However after you destroy the Guristas Pod and loot it, the pod wreck remains which can be destroyed by you since you have ownership of the wreck.

Okay, I’ll work on my D-Scan skills. I can scan down a small drone with probes but not a capsule 10x the size. The inconsistencies in this game drive me nuts. Why is it so foaking hard to plan an event that fits in with the current game mechanics?
Why force using D-Scan down everyone’s throats??
By the way, congratulations to all you folks with good directional skills already, this event was made for you. I hope you get rich!

I don’t get all the complaints. I spent little over an hour to find 17 pods. The sites seemed super manageable in a t1 frigate. The loot is hit an miss just like all of eve loot drops. To be honest I had the most fun lurking through low sec looking for pods and fights.

Any newbros who have trouble with d-scan mechanics should be using this event as practice. Go to YouTube to find a video on combat d-scan, not probes, d-scan. Then take to low sec and by the end of this event you will a pro d-scanner just like the bitter vets.

Giving incentive to learn how to use tools that will be vital for a New player in the near future (Aka Dscan), with the opportunity to use it on NPC rather than players, is exactly what “New player friendly” should be about.
People really should stop believing that “New player friendly” have to be translated into “Braindead”, “Zero efforts” or “No risks”.
“New player friendly” should actually be translated to “Make you learn the game’s ropes”.

I have no idea why the team at CCP that does this just don’t have new player empathy. Just because they understand all the complexities, it doesn’t mean they need to tax newbros like this. Been trying to bring in new players, and the barrier of entry is just… Eve-normous

Well yes, it’s a complex game.
That’s what make this game great for it’s public.
If you know your friends are not up for it then don’t try to bring them in the first place, you will annoy both your friends and the community.
Well, IDK. Its the same mechanic I would USE to find a POS in a WH while cloaked and not able to fire probes. It took me a minute to get it down pat again. After some practice I was able to find a whole bunch of them. And every single one was empty. So I really don’t know about the getting rich part. The quick part is also a no go.
Yeah well i sure can find a lot of capsule wreck. But even if i know where they may possibly be around, the d-scan sure doesn’t help at pinpointing.
Oh hey dude, see those 20 moons ? Yeah it’s somewhere around there… Oh great… Pretty much what i get everytime im trying to pinpoint where it is. Even if im not even sure if they goes to moon … because CCP barely give any explanation.
D-Scan sure isn’t that hard to use, saved my arse a few time before warping in some null sector where there was people. But when it come to accurately pinpoint 1 thing exactly, well beat me!
Otherwise you can just warp blindly anywhere, but that won’t net you more lol
I might also be extremely unlucky, but that sure doesn’t help lol
