The price will probably crash b/c this event
Hi, Iâm a n00b and please forgive my ignorance if asking some âshall knowâ questions.
Am interested in the event, however had some concerns.
- Does destroying a pod means killing the capsuler inside?
- Does NPC (especially pirates) destroy pods?
- If NPC doesnât and I do so, will I be even worst than a NPC pirate?
Thanks
I am not a new player, but thought I would try this with an Alpha character. My only advice is, donât.
Found a pod easy enough and obtained a key. There was a hunt site in the same system, so I warped to it and took the gate. I would suggest that the aggro you get from the rats in the site is way more than a new player can handle, especially if they too are an Alpha.
You get webbed, scrammed, neuted, and the rats have logi, which makes them difficult to kill. An Astero pilot landed on the same site I was in, and if he hadnât weighed in, I am pretty sure I would have lost my ship.
I agree⌠I barely made it out in hull and I started trying to run 10 seconds after I landed in the site. If it wasnât for my flight of ecm drones working my new ship would have exploded.
Finding the pods is fun for me, but now I have 3 keys & no desire to run the sites
really? i jumped 3 systems into highsec and found like 4 of them. Make sure you have them showing in your overview settings.
@CCP_Dopamine thank you so much for this event! Finally a good and playable event with decent prizes.
Here is my fit and loot from today sites. With Gecko included, it is worth around 250 million ISK. Plus I got Bantam Guristas SKIN which I activated so its not on screen.
Good job CCP iâm having a blast with this new patch.
Thatâs good for you, but this was touted as an event that new players could participate in, which is why it was restricted to frigates and destroyers.
How many new players can Dscan effectively to find the capsules to obtain a key, and how many new players, especially Alpha clones, are going to be able to run the sites?
I agree that these may be fun for experienced players, but they are not new player friendly.
I agree with you! New players wonât be able to find capsules, thatâs bad.
I think the dscan requirement is a low bar - CCP can expect new players to be willing to develop this skill. Requiring blingy ships is a bigger issue.
Could manage to find the key, but having problems with an algos. Before that they obliterated my tristan.
Managed to get through the 2nd gate and kill the last npc but only because somebody else cleared the first pocket and didnt have a key I suppose.
Will try some more fits, but I find it quite hard as an low skilled alpha.
you doing high sec ones or vip ones?
OMG just coming back Jita as Tactical destroyer doesnât go through /
Pod? scanned using DScan in a moment, just pain in back side that t3 destroyer doesnât go through
Also Hunting site is an anomaly, you donât need to scan it down with your probesâŚ
So you have to physically shoot the wrecks to get a key drop, i.e. you can only get the key drops in low and null?
Or every wreck is empty and they only spawn once a day?
You are looking to find the pods. Shoot the pod and the wreck contains a key. At least the 2 I found did. And that was in hi-sec.
Right, so I see that it is.
No CCP, this event IS NOT new player friendly.
I get wanting to get them to learn PvP tactics in PvE. I especially like how the dscan incorporates smoothly now, it used to be a PITA to find POSâs in WHâs. But seriously. take your frig to lolwsec where you yourself are a target of superior players, try to find the treasure and shoot it, and then come back to hisec only to be wtfbbqpwned by post sleeper AI in Guristas skins?
You donât need to go to low sec to find the keys, but the sites they open are really tough for a new player.
but you need go to low sec for good loot in VIP sites
Thatâs true of most things in Eve - if you want big rewards, you have to take big risks.
I havenât ran any sites yet, is there any difference between the high and low sec sites?
