Thank God there are still people that “read between the lines”.
Ofcourse the more players PvP, the more they loose stuff, the more you loose assets in this game the more real money there will be poored in Crowd Control Productions pockets.
I love the way some old players think that “Eve is a PvP” game and thats it. Oh wait for it guys, just wait, because CCP already said it will address the old players too and change things so “a lose will hurt again” even for old established players.
More assett loss means more real money for CCP and who ever thinks otherwise is very very ignorant.
PS: I wouldn’t mind paying for having fun, but at least offer some good services and fair odds for the money people are paying.
While I tend to agree that this event may be a bit of a challenge for real rookies it is feasible. Consider these sites to be of similar difficulty as the tougher lvl2 security missions, but with added ewar, webbing and pointing. You will need a decent, cap stable active tank. My advice to rookies would be:
look up a good video on directional scanning, that is a MUST, and how to make a filter setting for it via the Overview.
bring decent dps, preferably in the form of rockets/light missiles
fly with a buddy if you’re unsure about your skills, share the spoils, it’s more fun anyway.
kill disruptors and neutralisers first for safety reasons.
use the F10 map to figure out where there is less traffic and look for pods there, they do not seem to respawn fast
Have fun, this event can teach you a lot about flying in New Eden.
You really should remove the line about it being good for new players. It requires an ‘advanced’ knowledge of dscan, something that isn’t really covered in any newbro tutorial in game, requires a decently skilled destroyer, ‘advanced’ knowledge of ship fitting, and ‘advanced’ piloting (gameplay) skills.
All that is going to do is overwhelm, confuse and piss off new players into quitting. Whomever at ccp is that out of touch with the game needs to be fired.
On the other hand it’s a good event for longer time players with good small ship skills.
I agree 100% with everything you said, especially the part about firing the CCP numskull who thinks new players in regular T1 Frigates can complete these sites. These event sites are definitely a step above lv 3 Security Missions, much tougher than the lv 3 Pirate Epic Arcs which makes these event sites more in-line with lv 4 Security missions.
I did about 8 of these sites in a Thrasher. Just need medium shield booster and cap battery. Use thermal ammo and you 1-2 shot all of the npcc. I think you gte more waves out in Null sec. I had like 5 waves commonly Oo. BUUUT the most loot I got was some cosmetic clothing and crappy overseers artefacts. Id have though in 8 sites at least id get some nice BP for implants… This seems like a waste of time indeed.
To be fair, that’s exactly the kind of player CCP has been advertising to/trying to cater too for the last few years. It shouldn’t be surprising that they got exactly that.
Any assault frig is capable of hunt master solo. Use an active tank with Assault damage control. Use the damage control wisely when your tank looks like its breaking. It will stabilize you.
Im currently using a vengence for this, fitted cap stable with a scram in case i jump in on someone.
Will the cybernetics remain in game after the event? Or are they only in game during event as a NPC drop? If they do remain will there be another way to obtain the cybernetics sets?
Yup, running Vengeance, double repped, cap recharger, rockets, leave one repper running, never touched the ADC, in fact never got in any sort of trouble. Best drop so far was a 15th tier plus a 7th tier. Beats Emerging Conduits for sure
So is there any experienced player, that has 5 minutes to write a damn tutorial STEP BY STEP in how to find those capsules?
I mean I can see the damn capsules in D-Scan, I tried to warp to that position, I warp there…nothing…I look back…capsule appears again…so is like between A and B while warping I loose the capsule in the middle of flight…somehow the capsule is between A and B site. But there is nothing to warp at in between.
