The last day of the election even was today april 16th, yet

Ok, but time travel is also not a thing in reality with current scientific knowledge.

If a volcano erupts in Japan at 11am yesterday, it erupted at 9pm central standard. It erupted at the same time regardless of where you live. The event happened when it happened. Your clock does not change that.

The same thing applies to this video game. Downtime at 11am in iceland is 6am central standard. It happens at the same time regardless of what timezone you’re in. You do not lose or gain time simply because of timezones.

Whether you’re awake or able to play when something starts does not change that it started. Your life obligations do not impact anything outside of your own life. Everyone that plays eve had the same exact amount of time to complete this event.

As someone who lives on the West cost of North America, we had plenty of time. I even finished the mining track (you had to do it during the 3rd week sure, but still had plenty of time). I likely over farmed on my main (earning more than 1500 points).

Everyone else has jobs, school, and other real life stuff too, the timing of DT is inconvenient for most everyone. Sure you and I may have been sleeping, but Europeans were either at work, or having lunch, the American East coast was getting ready for work, etc.

Well, then it’s your problem if you can’t remember that you’re playing a game developed by an Icelandic company who gets up and goes to work in Iceland and applies changes to the game according to when it best suits them. This is how the world works. People in Iceland aren’t going to do their jobs in the middle of the night to accommodate you. I don’t know why it’s so difficult to wrap your head around it. I’m not gonna be condescending and say ‘‘you Americans expect the whole world to revolve around your needs’’ because there are a number of Americans here who have no issue with this particular aspect of the game.

By the way, I live in the EU, but I play mostly in USTZ (Texas), and DT is inconvenient for me too. It’s in the middle of my sleep time. I plan ahead accordingly. I get my things finished before going to bed, because I know it’ll be gone by the time I wake up.

I am disappointed by this statement.

I need full dive VR video games as depicted in cartoons and comics. This world is not meeting my needs.

Technically east coast U.S, downtime is at 7am. Iceland is 4 hrs ahead.

I understand that very well. Even when I did live in the same timezone, that meant downtime was in the middle of the working day. So you plan around that fact.

Well, in Eve it is and always has been. Except, I suppose for people in New Zealand. So you plan around that fact.

Why should people in America get more time? Just because they don’t understand timezones?

If you wouldn’t mind, most of us do understand timezones. Could you stick to statements about the complainer and not an entire country?

OK, I meant ‘they’ as ‘some people’. I didn’t intend to generalize all people in America.

I’m perfectly fine with others calling us idiots. Mostly because we are, but I understand the sentiment.

As I said there was a way to do the mining without getting bored to death,

It’s kind of funny that you point this out then completely MISS the fact that if “people in America” get their full day of activities, EVERYBODY else that lives east of America ALSO gets extra hours past the supposed deadline, what I am asking is going to affect everyone in a positive way not just “the people of America”. And precisely because I understand how the time zones work I expect CCP to do a better job of taking them into account!

There are no extra hours. That simply isnt how time works. Time travel is not currently possible.

yes, there are, but i’m getting tired of spoon feeding you and the only thing in common that what I think CCP should have done and space travel is the word “time”! So I am going to end my conversation with you right here!

There literally is not extra time for anyone. Downtime happens at the same time world wide, regardless of what your clock says.

Your own error in not understanding timezones does not magically make new hours. Your life obligations and sleep schedule is your own choice. You had the exact same amount of time that everyone else had.

Just stop. You look stupid.

I think it’s completely preposterous asking a company to work their hours around 1 person on the other side of the ocean, because he can’t figure out how to stay up a few hours longer if the game content is really that important to him.

Are you willing to pay for the wages of all CCP employees affected by this change @Kortanil ?

The day is the same length no matter what hour downtime happens for you. This is a non-issue. The only thing affected would be the pyerite mining, but you could do that in missions any hour of the day, same as everyone, if you felt like torturing yourself with mining.

How do you think people east of you get more hours? You’ve yet to respond to my earlier explanation of how everyone else is just as inconvenienced as we are. All of us had 672 hours available for the event, everyone sleeps and have lives.

Oh noooo, I had no idea I was the ONLY EvE player on this side of the globe!

Aside from ppl that decide to start skirmishes right at downtime I’ve never seen anyone except you complain about when downtime is. East coast u s. Is 7 am for downtime.

Id rather them do downtime when they are all in office and working than some obscure middle of the night when the people to fix it are asleep.

You’re the only one who’s making a big deal out of this.
You’re also the only one who wants a European company to set their work schedule according to when it bests suits you. I have a number of American acquiantances from this game, and literally not one of them has suggested something as idiotic.

Not only that, but he is avoiding the guy who is in his same timezone and asking him to clarify.
