Theoretically tho, EVE is the game where you make your own win conditions. If you feel like winning the game by sitting in carrier farming rats all day, making billions of ISK, its pay to win easily. You spend a lot of cash and you get it.
I think it depends on what are the expectations from the games in general. Some people just consider fighting with others as lottery of some kind, and PvE is where you have to beat the game actually.
That is the definition with ingame goals set by the player, which many people come up with to justify their complaints, the True definition is by how unfair the game can be when you buy something others cannot get by normal means, I could be the guy sitting in that carrier, by not paying a single dime, I just wait and I get what I want with time and effort. The only difference is that the guy that paid money now gets to sit in the carrier faster, that is it.
If we come up with those sentences for everything, then ALL activities are P2W, which is a bit weird when this guy only mines and that guy only hauls.
Itâs just a speed boost, to me that does not equal a Win to me. The money you get buying PLEX is the money you get over time running missions or doing whatever you do to make ISK.
Problem is the amount of time that you would have to spent grinding the ISK and training SP is in months here, sometimes years. It actually helps if you have super fleets, multiboxing in PvP and all of that taken into account causes people too to consider paying to have greener killboards. CCP takes money and provides you with all you need to push your chances higher. A mere alt in PvP is a strong point that more you pay, more chance you have in encounter. Its not a binary choice of course, you can still lose, butâŚ
sometimes it feels like this, especially after introduction of alphas you can say that we have free users. There may have been exceptions until now with some individuals. There always are.
True, but they are not getting an obvious edge over any other top pvper, thats my point, the image you show is the perfect holy grail of how a P2W is, when things are Exclusive to cash.
Alphas are by definition unlimited trials here, because they have the game locked for them in a game that used to be 100% based on subs, imo most of the complaints come from them more than anything else, but maybe with the boost of what they can fly and use on their new T2 ships will hold back some of these complaints and instead sprout âWe donât have enoughâ complaints.
The chances you get by paying money to âgit gudâ wonât help you in getting a greener killboard, might happen sure, but maybe it will help some other person get an amazing killboard to show off.
Well many people just look for any excuse to explain their defeat, that is not âthe other guy was betterâ. âHe had better gear because heâs paying itâ is a easy way out of embarrassment.
The day I go back to WoW with the new expansion I hope to god Blizz doesnât add exclusives to the shop, otherwise That will be said all across the board.
Nah. Theyâll get even more determined to cry for more free goodies. Itâs not free enough for them until itâs completely free and then theyâll start crying about something else.
Well, when it actually comes to - pay to have a better chances to win, get an alt for scouting or alt for tackle - then its just that. Either you play it or not.
Game gives more to Alphas - We still donât have enough
Game is Free - We are now just like the bittervets and complain about everything the devs do
Same here
Sunny outside
But the bed sheets are warm and comfy, and I donât want to get out D:
@Arcanith_Lionheart
You still playing Starborne?
Got me the Isotope Adapter card a few hours ago :>
However the station for it was only placed yesterday and still needs upgrading until I can use it
Yeah I do, not as hardcore as you, that expansion is nuts you got there, Iâm taking it chill, 3 stations and massing up a fleet to get to Heavy ships
Tried to get the card once in a raid, it went bad.
How many corvettes you reckon I need to get the card? Im thinking 2k
How to pick up a fight with Her:
- Say âyesâ
- Say ânoâ
- Donât say anything.
Corollary: you donât pick up fights with Her. She does it enough for you two.
I did the HSA with a assault fleet of 2600 corvettes carded for suppression and firepower. Made it out with almost no losses.
The Xaoc base, however, is another story entirely. Two days ago I threw 6k corvettes at it, lost 1.4k and didnât even wipe the defenders because the â â â â thing has a forcefield projector at level 10 (+10k hp each round). Threw a bigger fleet at it yesterday on assault movement (calculated for killing it with a raid, but wanted to be sure ) and got the card with 1.3k corvettes lost.
Well apparently thereâs a rule about âpyramid quotingâ and players are being asked to remove such messages even if theyâre several days old.
Guess things are getting messy at CCP and our beloved community personnel are a bit on their nerves.
Cool, that is really helpful, seems like it mentioned the habitation dome there, I still havenât gone down fully on the middle station building tree, I only got two mining stations and one with the military branch on the left
You want to build your HQ somewhere with lots of ice and go full domain on it for maximum labor.
I wish to would have put it where the stargate is right now +300 ice more (+1 station harvest range)
Why do people unclaim spots with resources? I know its about NPC stations but what about the ones without NPCs?
