The like and get likes thread

Same boat here, I don’t buy fancy, rather look for a good quality at sensible price. Also I never look for price, price, price, because I am well aware that low prices are bad. Things have a sensible price, neither too high not too low. And low prices usually are a harmful lie -someone is paying the actual price, always.

He said, in part, “We have a responsibility to protect your data, and if we can’t then we don’t deserve to serve you.”

In other words: Nobody should be using Facebook. Why do you dumb fucks trust us?

The PDP-1 (Programmed Data Processor-1) boards also had wires that looked like spaghetti noodles.
It’s also not for PewDiePie.

I already live without google, facebook, twitter etc.

Amazon on the other hand… I use quite a bit for buying parts and supplies for repairing PCs. Also they are usually the cheapest for my aquarium supplies and equipment plus it gets here in two days due to prime. I do feel guilty and have a pit in my stomach everytime I use them though.

I have been looking to buy an overflow box, sump, skimmer and a lift pump for my big aquarium and If I go with amazon I’d save around $100 compared to another saltwater aquarium specific site.

I really wish there still was local retail stores that have all the stuff I order off the internet but sadly those no longer exist.

And the irony in a Google dude posting that! “Facebook is all evil hurr durr, but Google is perfectly fine! After all, I work for them! Come work at Google, not Facebook. We’re the good guys (and absolutely nothing better in terms of data collection and abuse, but our slogan is “Don’t be evil”)!”

If they aren’t selling you a product, you are the product

I prefer to be the product…

I did find that Facebook managed to find my parents’ Facebook and suggest I follow them, even though the account had no relation to them all… if I weren’t mortal, I might care, but hey, when I’m gone, my data means next to nothing :stuck_out_tongue:

Google Drive ~$12 a year
Antivirus ~$50 a year
Youtube ~(Whatever your ISP decides to charge you)
Gmail ~etc…

All those things… could add up to… thousands. So, anonymity for a few thousand dollars worth of stuff, seems fair.

I can’t tell if Hardware or programs are growing faster than each other… if it’s hardware, we need better scientist/more of them, if it’s software, then maybe we need to optimize/tone it down from uber graphics god standard…

Oh yeah, I found out that one of the settings disables telemetry
