I remember a particular little carebear goblin…He was an NPC corp incursion farmer, and spent his entire time on the forums lashing out at people and begging CCP to remove all the PvP from EVE (everywhere, not just high-sec). Can’t remember his name. Maybe began with a “D”?
Honestly, but
Was not a carebear.
That’s fair. Hello. o/
On the list so far …
Veers Belvar
Infinity Ziona
Naari Naarian
Sabus Narian
Fabulous Rod
Serene Repose
There was this nolifenoposting guy, what was his full name again?
I remember him also being a really weird one, who copied someone elses portrait, too.
o7
One only has to look at Infinity’s killboard to see that, 58% solo. I also flew a little bit with Infinity in Stain in 2014.
I concurr.
Wasn’t really a carebear …
… just an asshole.
More names would be great!
Dang!
Fab Rob alt, one of his many lookalikes of people that pissed him off.
Infinity may not have been a carebear but his sheer assholishness more than compensated.
Thanks! What a disturbed person!
Oh hey… disturbed person.
FoxTrott? Admiral FoxTrott?
FoxBolt?
His CSM thread was hilarious.
That’d be great if you did that, actually.
No, that’s not it.
I believe it was an Amarr character, and he had one of those hooded portraits.
I was just in Rookie Chat. They’re listing “ganking” in there as a career on the same level as manufacturing and marketing.
Thank-you CCP: Ridiculous is anything that opens itself up to ridicule. Nice job there.
…is it not?
Ganking is a valid gameplay style and perfectly acceptable career in a PvP-centeic game. This is a game where it is also perfectly acceptable to be a liar and scammer, use social engineering to convince people to give you their money, and steal assets from player corporations.
EVE is not like any other game - do not try to apply the standards of other games to EVE.
It’s exactly like every other MMO. It’s a Skinner Box designed to take your money. I don’t know why you people get all spiritual about it.
Ganking is marketing, did you mean trading?
Ganking is probably one of the most easily accessed new player PvP activities, gank fleets are usually open and it’s a good way to learn how to not get ganked.
Know what you need? A stern talking to at fanfest, that’s what.
Heresy.
Clearly ganking is a higher level.
How is the risk broken when 100% of the time, suicide gankers lose their ships?
Even if you were right (and you probably are, since generating money is their main goal), they certainly won’t do it by literally deleting the concept of Alpha accounts, or by adding “consequences” that actually help the gankers more than they annoy them.
This is just a post full of tears by someone who doesn’t understand the slighest things about this game and is probably bad enough to die to NPC on a regular basis without the gankers even helping.
We have every right, as legitimate players with an actual brain, to feel some fear when we think about what PA can do to the game to milk money out of this kind of people.
Sadly, in our capitalist world, milking money from the bottom of the society is often more profitable than making a quality product.
Nonetheless If there is anything we can do to slow-down the process of turning this game into a MacDonald game, aka accessibility before quality, I’ll gladly do it as long as I can.
I can not agree more: Is it time for them to actually explain to every new player why ganking, and any form of PvP, is much more important and relevant than manufacturing and marketing.
We have way too much producers already. Markets are mostly flooded and the prices on everything are laughably low.
Losses and ISK are irrelevant because we have so much of everything that it just doesn’t matter at this point.
A diminution of the quantity of industrials players, or more precisely, a diminution of the industrial power of the playerbase, is long overdue.
