Just to situate myself in this madhouse.
NPCs that scam/disrupt are rare in PVE. It’s statements like this that makes me think you have neither experienced high end PVE sites in nullsec where clearing one can take half an hour or more, nor have experienced when hunting ratting ships how important it is to land that initial disrupt/scram.
Most of them. The legit posters long ago threw up their arms and said, “That’s it. I can’t deal with this ■■■■ anymore. I’m outta here.”
I can’t really go into detail as a lot of it would be discussing ISD behavior and selective moderation. And that never ends well for me.

Based on what I’ve observed, I’d say 75% f.o.s and 25% genuine.

And I agree with you. It’s fun to make fun of the emotional abusers and that’s what I see from the likes of DC, Aiko, Gix, Masuka et.al, obsessed individuals who for a lack of being able beat up someone irl they come on here and act out their abusive fantasies on regular members who are simply looking for a dialogue.
Just their show of always wanting to be right and then attacking someone who shows they’re wrong just shows me how sick these people are.
We need the authorities to reopen the asylums, it’s becoming an emergency.

That’s how interactions are supposed to be, but they are the outliers now, not the norm, like they were 10-15 years ago.
These days it’s much more common to be called a f****t in Russian or Chinese after a PvP encounter than to find some kind of common ground and establish rapport. Even if you kill someone and open a chat with them to tell them how to improve their setup or even offer to give them some of their stuff back.
If you start getting more kills, you’ll definitely make this observation yourself.

But if I’m agreeing with you, and you call me a liar, doesn’t that make you a liar too? 
Out of curiosity, do you only use your own theory crafted fits, and shy away from 3rd party tools such as pyfa and zkillboard? Do you use intel tools, or get intel from comms and chat channels? Does anyone provide you any sort of logistics support, no matter how trivial?
I mean, we know you use zkillboard, but if you use it for anything more than entertainment purposes, then you are getting outside help, and not solely responsible for your kills.
Maybe you should be the one to lose your solo tag. Whether they’re on grid with you or not, the simple fact of the matter is that if you receive any sort of outside help, no matter how trivial, you are not solely responsible for your kills.

I’m not mad… just disappointed.
It was valuable experience…all losses are, which is why it is so bad when people get bad tempered over it. Without that loss I’d probably never have learned about bait ships…and how to set one up myself. I see it all more as a 6m ISK lesson…and quite cheap at that.
I simply can’t imagine insulting anyone who destroys my ship. It’s the whole purpose of the game.
Going by your logic, there really isn’t any ‘self-made men’ then since they all must have got help from someone sometime along their life path.

I don’t think it happens as often as they’d like us to believe on this forum.
This is why you have a lot of potential, while the people calling players like me in-game abusers don’t. They’re on their way out, but you could at least enjoy getting some kills on them before they leave.
Lol…you are reminding me of that old Biblical verse about straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. I’m simply expressing a perfectly valid terminological viewpoint. There’s no need to make it vastly more complex, introduce huge dynamical or technical stuff, or whatever. It is simply a view on the meaning of the word ‘solo’. That is all.
