Hi all,

A 2nd release of Theorycrafter is ready for testing. And this time it’s beta!

Download Windows and Mac OS X installers.

Version highlights:

  • Added a PG and CPU column to the fit editor.
  • Added a footer to the auto-suggest dropdown that shows the amount of available PG/CPU/cargo capacity.
  • Fits can now be opened in a new top-level window.
  • Implemented undo/redo in the fit editor.
  • Fits can now be renamed.
  • Fits list now has a tag with the ship name.
  • Show ship traits in the tooltip over the ship names.
  • Fits can now have command fits, providing warfare links.
  • Pressing TAB while editing an item in the fit editor now chooses the item and moves selection to the next row.
  • SPACE now toggles items’ primary state (active, online).
  • UI is now smaller/denser overall.
  • Added a search field for fits.
  • When starting to edit an existing item in the fit editor, show its variants in the dropdown.
  • Pressing + or - on a regular, non-grouping, module will now add/remove more modules like it.
  • The auto-suggest dropdown menu for subsystems now includes the number of slots provided by the subsystem.
  • Items can now be copy/cut/pasted in the fit editor. Any item can be pasted into the cargo hold.
  • Added a context menu for the fit editor items.
  • When editing an existing cargo item, you can just type a number to update the amount.
  • Cargo items auto-suggest dropdown in the fit editor now shows the volume.
  • Alt-Ctrl-C will now copy the displayed fit to the clipboard.

and of course, lots of small improvements everywhere.

Please try, and report any issues here.

Did you make that? And if so, could you make a version that works on iPad?

I may port it to mobile and web at some point, but not until it’s feature-complete.

In the meantime, testing and feedback would really help with that.

Great that you support MacOS :grinning:. I will give it a try.

I have installed it now and did quickly 2 fits. Nice gui, easy to use, no problems so far. Pyfa looks ugly compared to your app.
In this state of programming skills are assumed to be all 5, personal skills is a future feature hopefully.
Before I continue writing, what’s your preferred way to get feedback? Here in the forum? Please tell me/us.

Indeed. I intend Theorycrafter to eventually be feature-complete.

Here is good.

what are the advantages over pyfa?

Moved to Third Party Developers - EVE Online Forums

Primary Feature: That it works on the latest versions of MacOS.

For me it works with the latest version of MacOS, I have a M2 Mac Studio. Pyfa does not start since the last 3 updates. I only get a window full of error messages.

Feedback to the developer:
I would love to the the stats of a fit with my skills instead of all skills 5
You must know what you fit, so its more difficult for beginners
Sometime if I want to change a modul or ammo, nothing happens. I can solve this by opening an other fit and the then switch back to the previous one and make my change

Really nice program, well done :+1: :+1: :+1:

The most important thing - it works on M-type Mac and the newest MacOS.

I would love to the the stats of a fit with my skills instead of all skills 5

This is planned, probably in the release after the next one.

I will add an item/market browser at some point, yes.

I think I’ve already fixed this. New release coming soon.

Thank you for the fast reply. I’m looking forward for your next release :grinning:
