Cultural misunderstandings abound here. I’m British, if I’m insulting you there’s a good chance that I like you and the insults are banter.
On the other hand if I’m being overly polite I don’t like you, at all; politeness is a weapon here, a bloody sharp one.
A polite word or two at the appropriate time, hits far harder than an all out insult. I would have to agree with you. Another analogy it’s not the person at the front screaming and shouting that you have to watch, it’s the person at the back being quiet and conducting themselves calmly that you have to keep your eye on.

Sorry, I found his post interesting and well written but it doesn’t mean I agree with everything he wrote. I think everyone is entitled to their opinions and everyone is entitled to like a portion of what someone said without being accused of favoritism.
It doesn’t have to only be black or white, especially with opinions. Someone can be right 40% in their statement and that doesn’t mean they’re 100% wrong.
I like nuances and benefits of doubts. Only Siths deal absolutes.

With thousands and thousands of players there are chances some of them aren’t psychologically sound but you’re right, no need to bring it up and pointing the finger at someone there’s three fingers pointing back at you. ( not you personally, Khamsi. )
I don’t think a game is a magnet for a certain type of behavior. You forget the human component: we are unpredictable sometimes and sometimes not very rational, motivations aren’t an easy thing to frame.

I have nothing to do with CCP besides the fact I play their game and betting without knowledge of the truth will only make you lose money.

I understand that. English is an easy language but when you have your language in mind errors are hard to avoid. I have trouble writing exactly what I want to write too, it takes me a minute to find the right words in order to be concise and make sense.
What’s the point of trolling someone, even if you think they are self-absorbed and all that? It’s fun at the expense of someone who may actually not be aware of their behavior or cannot help being who they are. Doesn’t that border on bullying? Why not just ignore?

That may be true but you all didn’t have to jump on his post and have knee-jerk reaction about it. Isn’t he also allowed to state his opinion just like you? Don’t have to read it, don’t have to agree with it and certainly don’t have to latch on his every word.
What’s wrong with Fortnite? It’s a fun game. People making fun of others because of the game they play, I had that instance school where I had to defend to my friend because she played Pokémon. Is that what we are now here? School children?

I understand your post but what I quoted borders on paranoïa. I don’t think the ISD care one way or the other. They’re here to make sure the children don’t hurt each other.
I think I would too. Yet again, someone doesn’t like a post and it’s automatically “trolling”. Best way to dismiss someone, too, instead of engaging the person on the ideas instead of the character.
What I mean is these players just come to derail threads purposefully to get them closed. The mods would have a lot less work if they just temp banned these people so players could actually have a normal conversation, but instead they just close otherwise perfectly reasonable threads. That’s not paranoia, go to any closed thread and you will probably see it.

and maybe protection is the wrong word, but they do enable that behaviour and it objectively makes the forums worse. A policy change is needed to prevent that type of behaviour.
The problem with being quiet on the forum is that’s just lurking (and yes, I know the subtlety in the original intent posted above, just don’t find that “quiet” always translates well in posts).
Lot’s of us do lots of lurking as well as posting, but when it comes to the forum, words are sometimes short, abrupt and direct, because the longer a post is, the less likely it’s full meaning will be understood (or even that people will read beyond the first line or two).
Just the nature of the medium to a degree; and I’m sure that if we were all in a room instead, the tone of discussions would be very different.
It is, and it isn’t; although that can depend on which particular variety of English you’re using.
IIRC @tutucox_Khamsi speaks Portuguese, which like all of the romance languages has little in common with English; which in itself is a hodgepodge of the medieval Saxon and Norman languages, along with all the words that we stole from other cultures. In some areas of the UK the local dialect is quite close to German/Anglo Saxon, and in others it’s the remnants of the English of the 15th century.

I really don’t know about that. You may be right. Maybe some of them play favoritism and maybe others are just locking thread because it’s been derailed and enough has been said and that adding to it would only throw fuel on the fire.
We can only guess short of the ISD telling exactly why it’s been locked and who was responsible for it but it’s an exercise in futility. They are the ISD and what they say/do is the end of it, period.
Imagine their position for a minute. You walk into a cafeteria where everyone is slinging food at each other. Are you going to ask who’s right or who’s wrong? I’d yell out “everybody out! Now! You all are in deep doodoo!!”
My point is that the people who start slinging food are not thrown out. So as soon as the ISD leaves they start slinging food in the next thread. It’s always the same people and it’s really stupid tbh.
You can generally get a much better debate on r/eve than you can here. Inb4 someone tells me to leave and go to reddit if I don’t like it here.
