Social media destroys the soul. Hate, intolerance, abuse, everywhere. The EVE forums are not the worst that I’ve seen but they are certainly not great.
Watching the news, reading forums, browsing social media has added much to my depression over the years and has really killed my faith in humanity.
If someone or something gave me a big red button I could press that would delete humanity, I think I world press it. The world would most certainly be better off.
The best thing I ever did was delete all of my social media accounts, social media exacerbated my depression. I’m still not “right” but I’m coping way better since doing so.

Seriously though, I think you raise a good point related to depression and other states in life (and I hope your situation improves and/or isn’t debilitating) - we post here often assuming (maybe not the right word), that the others that post here have a similar culture, or intelligence, or are at similar stages in their life. But that’s not the case at all.
One person’s post might be replied to in a way they didn’t expect or hope for, simply because the person replying has an understandably different perspective, because they have a whole different life experience and situation. Next thing, a thread is derailed.
It’s always going to happen and from a moderation perspective, it needs to be permissive in my view. Otherwise, I (like everyone) would only want views moderated that don’t agree with my own. That places the ISDs in an impossible position.
I understand. Maybe those who aren’t thrown out enjoy a certain benefit of the the doubt due to their seniority on the forum.
But really, just because a certain group seem to have one leg up on others on the forum doesn’t mean that CCP always favors their ideas or playstyle.
I think CCP will do what they deem right for the game regardless of who’s yelling on the rooftops.

It’s not that I think CCP favours the playstyle, but it’s that one type of player that behaves this way. Whenever you see them, they always belong to that group. I’ve never seen an industrialist or anyone like that behave the same way.

I’ve done the same, the EVE O forums is my only remaining form of social media left. I would drop the forums too but then I wouldn’t have literally any remaining contact with another human. I probably should but I’m just too damn lonely to do that.
I’ve had cut as much negativity out of my life as possible. I stay away from family because I can’t handle the drama, I can’t watch the news anymore because the world is always burning, I don’t have any friends because the only people interested in me have been ones who wanted to take advantage of my money or wheels.
I can’t even hold down a job because of the drama of my coworkers. Everyone trash talking each other and pretending to be your friend to your face, but as soon as your out of earshot, (or so they think) they proceed to tear you down.
I’m so sick of life and people, yet so lonely at the same time. There doesn’t seem to be anyone real anymore.

It’s funny how because they only do industry and never do PvP, they think that those who PvP never do industry. Like when you tell them that you have industrial characters and perform various industrial activities, but at the same time wholly support all forms of PvP (including ganking), they won’t only not believe you, but will categorically deny you exist right to your face.
Its also funny because its not true.
Anyone who has been in the Information channel when a new Indy change is made can see the Indies with shortsight blaze worse than… well tbh I can think of few pro-PvP folk who blaze as hard as say ohhh Orca Platypus
