I think Capsuleers, especially Rookies, will find that a Tik Tok account will generate for more rewards than a Twitch account.
Tik Tok is based on micro-plagarisms or taking bits and pieces from content you have already watched that someone else uses ’ bot sub accounts’ or Tik Tok bums use to get more coins.
But what about when CSM candidates have sit down meetings? Tik Tok would be used to cast the meeting allowing a much broader audience to be reached.
The same thing with an idea or complaint and even a story. The content is posted on the forums, then videos are made from the content and posted to Tik Tok.
Have beef with someone? Bring it to Tik Tok, where the exploit to get around the High and Low sec rules is the key.
Tik Tok truly is a never ending waterfall of gold.
CCP Shanghai uses Douyin to stream their irl events and have contests. I don’t think anyone should use a platform like TikTok that is Us military linked and is used to collect data and censor opposition in the US even if you are outside the country, it’s just the principle.
To be fair, Tiktok does it more, and the way companies work in China, their government has access to such data whenever they want. I am a man of the West. I am much more concerned about china collecting and storing data on me, than I am about Western entities doing it, although that’s problematic as well.
The whole thing with ticktick is that it’s just not worth it. But teenagers seem to be addicted to that platform. I wouldn’t be on it even if they didn’t collect data, as --like I said-- I am not bipolar. The content up on tiktik is absolute garbage. I have no use of it. It’ll pass. There will come a new thingie and then the current ticktick users will look like today’s facebook users, etc. It won’t last.
I live in the real world. The sun is still the same sun and will be 20 years from now. I don’t get worked up about these transient internet programs.
That’s reasonable. Though realistically which can do more harm to you or use it more against you: your own government / a western platform or a “foreign” (albeit superpower) one, I’m really not sure tbh?
Agreed though I personally don’t have any social media accounts what so ever.
Unless you count Reddit which is only so I can occasionally write a reply or post and can keep track of posts visited and can join subs to add them to my feed but no real-life info so it is more like a forum account if anything.
And Steam / GoG but these are for game ownership and multiplayer gaming with a related community feature on the side which I rarely use, though my guides and screenshot library are on Steam community for example.
The only real exception is Twitter (nowadays some people call it “x”) but not using that actively nor have real-life info on it either. Was just checking it out but didn’t hold my attention and I am more focused on looking for content than relying on such platform and infinite scrolling its endless content.
Back in the days I was only active on forums, I guess this is why I hang out here too as forums are more my thing. I despise Discord for example and even in the past wasn’t too much into chats, if anything multiplayer gaming related ones but even that not too much.
