To all Caldari sympathizers - a musing

Between jobs lately I find myself escaping to some forgotten corner of Luminaire just to think. Just me, and my shuttle. To all Caldari sympathizers - isn’t it time to let go of the past? to work together for the future? Not as different factions, but as one species? Surely you have seen the latest news regarding the Triglavian ship that was captured. If true, then I fear for our galaxy as we know it.

I woulod LOVE to see hardcore Caldari captains bite the bullet to fight alongside their Gallente brethren. Even Amarrians and Minmatar can get in on the act. Lets just fight not as 4, but as ONE. if we can’t overcome our differences, we’re just killing ourselves slowly…

I appreciate the sentiments you express Pilot but, these kinds of threads never end well on the IGS. Expect the trolls to come out in force soon.

Wishing and hoping is all well and good, But I don’t feel comfortable with the Gallante, or the Caldari defending Matari space, almost as much as Amarr. They have no invested interest (a large portion of the Amarr I’d imagine would let our republic burn as a fire break just out of spite). On an offensive maybe, but defense I just dont see any binding agent to really make us cohesive.

What is the Caldari stance on the sacred Tea Pot? Can we make pot noodle in it or not?

only thing working with the gallente will do is impede the progress of the caldari this has been proven time and time again

I fear it’s going to take an all out war on all the major CONCORD signatories by an external threat to really unite them in terms of defence, but even then I bet there will be swathes of freelance pilots watching everything burn for their own reasons. Noble, admirable indeed the OP’s rallying call is, but unrealistic sadly at this time.

Mind you, that’s basically the single worst thing you could say to a Caldari. They don’t just “let go”, their society is continuously shaped by their history. For them, to forget their past is to forfeit their future. In fact, I’m not sure the concept of “past” applies to their perception of history in the first place.

Can we still all work together? Probably yes. Does that automatically make us friends? Not by a long shot.

To all Gallente sympathizers - isn’t it time to let go of representative government and adopt a brutal authoritarian dictatorship with strict state (small ‘s’) controls on every aspect of your life?

No, really, you basically just asked the Caldari to renounce a core aspect of their culture.

Also, what is it with oppressors wanting to dictate to their victims that it’s time to just ‘let go’ of the past? You don’t get to dictate when someone else’s pain has been assuaged, and you don’t get to decide when the damage you inflicted has been adequately recompensed. Worse, there’s not one single shred of apology or remorse to any of it. No ‘we screwed up, we’re sorry’, let alone ‘how can we atone so this can be put to rest?’ Gallente or Amarr, you all do exactly the same self-righteous crap.

It’s kind of inevitable, though. People who see their truth as a gift to all the world will tend to act on that belief. They can’t be true to who they are without trying to persuade us to think likewise.

They don’t see themselves as conquerors, in the end, but as liberators. They think they’ve found the truth, the real truth, applicable to all mankind.

They want us all to be free. It’s for our own good; they’re sure of it. And just telling them to go away isn’t going to be enough even in a hundred years.

Even if you crush them militarily, they won’t give up believing in their own correctness. After all, war doesn’t prove who is right…

So if you want to shut them up, you’ll need to destroy their culture. But I don’t think yours would survive such an act even if you could win.

Anyone who seeks to force another group of people to do things their way has no right to think of themselves as liberators, and deserves every iota of vengeance that comes their way.

In the case of the federation, their very mantra is essentially “coming together as different people working together under a democratic umbrella.” Is this calling you speak of not the epitomy of the opposite of everything stated before? Join or die. Unique by conforming, Its one thing I don’t believe I’ll ever understand.

hey, I’m cool with trying to get the caldari-federation relations down to maybe terse words face to face in a boardroom, but you’d have to make both sides, trillions of people mind you, to drop a lot of baggage. if you got a plan, let us hear it, otherwise, you’re spouting the same words that the first man said when he took a swing at New Eden’s newly dead horse.

The only place I see this co-operation happen for the common good is in WH space (null is just more Empires, but with less controls). You live or die based on working as one, and this is why I moved out there.

What a strong statement.

I wonder what will become of you if you follow through.

I told you before, a force called “justice” doesn’t exist in this world. Maybe you can become such a force, but actually I think actually you’ll just be another bloodstained wretch trying to force people to do things your way. And of course, there’s no natural law demanding that people see justice the way you do.

Trolls kill all things.

so the federation can crash another nyx into the station? please

That Nyx wasn’t crashed on Federal orders. If I’m not mistaken, Admiral Noire did that on his own and even that’s suspicious, I think that there’s more to it than it seems.
