Respectfully, they don’t seem to be taking prisoners. It’s not being called a massacre for nothing. If that isn’t the case I wish you luck though I am led to believe you’ll only be trading for bodies…
They would have brought more, if they’d had to.
If the capsuleer proxies of the Khanid Kingdom have already executed the prisoners from the Battle of Kahah, then the cluster should know that the bloodlust of King Khanid drips down to his so-called ‘loyalists’ as well.
That may be, but King Khanid’s pet capsuleers still helped ensure the freighter’s destruction without additional Royal Khanid Navy escalation.
You’ll also notice that I said from moment 0 that the declaration was a damned stupid idea.
I still showed up to try to save lives. That the attempt never had any real chance of succeeding doesn’t mean we don’t try. It just means we accept the possibility of failure, and make sure everyone involved knows what they’re risking, and does so of their own accord, before they go in.
And for the record…
That’s not me failing. That’s me doing my job.
That’s me failing.
Quite.
Whether sparked by Bloodraiders or someone else, Kahah is about a rebellion now. And indeed it is the interests of You of the Evil God to do your outmost to stop it.
This means civilian casualties are high and will likely rise. Given the losses of contact to non-Khanid forces - reported both on IGS and elsewhere - I expected worse, but obviously landing forces are exposed on entry and often do not have an established base on surface.
Which leads me to a major correction: while foreign forces have offered limited support, the Free Army is a Khanid force fighting for Khanid freedom. This is a rebellion, not an invasion.
And that’s why it will survive even when landings fail.
(EDIT: edited my terminology to confirm better to that used by Scope so as not to unnecessarily confuse the issue)
God does not support what is happening on Kahah.
This “Kahah Free Army” seems rather unlikely to accomplish all that, but I understand that you must live in hope.
I admit it is a long shot.
But so was 23216 and here we are.
Honestly I kinda hope that’s the case for your people’s own sake, I can’t imagine any higher being being for such a thing.
I didn’t say God did. I didn’t even say God exists.
I said that it is in the interests of those who label themselves as His Empire - that is, the Amarr and the Khanid - to quell this rebellion.
And yes, I know there are voices inside those Empires who speak for God’s mercy and de-escalation and even abolition. I am afraid such things are beside the point, though.
