didn’t have literally the worst UX and UI in gaming,
an ever-increasing gap and insurmountable gap between veterans and newbies is one of the many, many factors that is causing the population to decline. Which is a tragedy because there’s a really good game under there.
If players don’t train Biology to L5, they’re really not getting their money’s worth with this bundle. Not all players know about the Biology skill (or that implants exist to extent boosters/cerebral accelerators further), so I’m pushing CSM to include a “Biology Notice” on all boosters/cerebral accelerators in the short term (and have an “Affected By” tab for all info windows in the long term that is more general purpose, just like in Pyfa).
Brisc said he’d bring it up and Mike seems to like the idea, but if you guys want to help emphasize the importance of this with your collective voices, that we need this sooner rather than later so CCP takes it that much more seriously (it’s as simple as updating Item Description text), I encourage you all to pitch in on this thread:
Some others would prefer that they spend their development time removing the red dot.
I’d prefer that they spend their development time reducing the ratio of wh- to non-wh-sigs in K-space.
This is why they do whatever seems right to them, because everyone wants something different.
I’d like to know just where do you get those numbers?
Each character has different stats dependent upon their attributes, skills, implants, etc.
Maybe those packs are not beneficial for you specifically but they’re definitely a great benefit to players like myself, and that’s something I will gladly take advantage of whenever it’s available.
Sorry brother but I gotta disagree with that. I started playing this game in June 2008 and there were a lot of older players with way more skillpoints than me. In fact I watched the game population steadily grow for 5 yrs without any complaints about that gap.
Today’s mentality of instant gratification is the reason that excuse is constantly being used now. As such CCP has happily jumped on that bandwagon with $ signs in their eyes.
As for the decline in population, that’s a topic for another thread.
The numbers are dependent on how your attributes are mapped as well as type of implants installed. Also on what skill is currently training in the queue. And the effect of the Accelerator is dependent on the level of Biology skill already trained.
Which means that in most cases it is even worse as I used a highly specialized training regimen as example. 600 hours Accelerator time is with Biology V, which also means that most people get even less time from this than the 25 days as the standard time is just 300 hours. Congrats, this is getting better and better.
more old-timer comments from a fellow 2008’er “back in my day” (lol), we didn’t have a skill queue; I was so “into” eve at the time, nothing seemed as rewarding as hearing Aura’s “skill training completed.” It WAS incredibly annoying to spend a weekend doing little but restarting the queue for the next 30 minute basic skill, but I still alarm-clocked for some of them (It wasn’t too long after I started, that a 24hr skill queue feature was introduced, where as long as the last skill in the 24hr queue was extra long, you could finally get some sleep )
I like the puzzle aspect of an MMO that would let you “play for free,” if you could figure out how to make enough ISK for PLEX. I felt a greater sense of accomplishment for the “work” I had to put in, versus now and all the skillpoint give-aways - and ofc this announcement of direct SP purchasing.
