CCP has more than one game, there are Valkyrie, Sparc and Gunjack 1/2. Also, even IF CPP would only have on game to base their business on, why would they ātry to kill the gameā? If you want to get rid of a product, you just close it down, like CCP did with Dust 514 about two years ago.
And what ācolorpaletsā do you mean? A way for players to select some of the shipās hull colors themselves? Well, weāve got S.K.I.N.S., which you can buy relatively cheap in-game, or just play Project Discovery to get some quite nice-looking Exoplanet Hunter skins. Whatās missing though, not sure if thatās what youāve meant, is a way to apply corp/ally logos on ships. In Dark Age of Camelot you could put your guild logo on your cloak, which looked quite nice in PvP if everyone did that.

Thanks for the slap in the face! Are you joking or did you guys just take a 2 day vacation??? There have been numerous reports, ever since you supposedly fixed it ā¦ all over the forum that CHAT DOES NOT WORK for pretty much all of the US East Coast.
Amazingly enough my game play is just fine. I havenāt HAD CHATS FOR 3+ Days!!! CONSTANT - NOT INTERMITTENT! Port 5222 blah blah blah! WTH! How are these issues connected? I thought chat was completely separate from the gameā¦ and no its not on my end port quiz works just fine on 5222

After DT comes mainly from the āpusherā. Be sure to click the āEnter the gameā button.
With constant periodicity, communication with server chats is lost and restored.

I am still definitely getting the exact same chat error when connecting more than half the time I log in, and also still have to connect using the button inside the screen that opens when the launcher opens the game and that fails to connect. No change in behavior so far here.

also have the same problems described here. Last week, connection crashes again and again. COnnection closed on average every 20 minutes.
Since the weekend the chat is no longer working and get the message: Could not connect to chat server live.chat.eveonline.com:5222. Sometimes the chat goes again but there are differences between the local chat and the guest list in a station.
Thought it was my fault but after some tests (http://portquiz.net:5222/) I could not find any errors.

how can you be Monitoring the chat system. its screwed and has been all weekend. very amateurish response to the problem of DDOS attacks. not impressed at all.

@CCP_Dopamine It took you like 8 days to put a message in the launcher- This is bad.
The launcher should be your first point of contact with the players. My only issue with this ddos attack (outside of mild annoyance at not being able to play) Is that you have failed what should be your first step in communicating: Putting a message in the launcher. Without that first step a good chunk of the player base- especially the newbies, the credit card warriors, the filthy casuals and highsec solo players donāt know to regularly check the forums or the twitter. I found out on day one by an alliance update- and hearing itās broken second hand doesnāt impart nearly as much information as a launcher post with links to the forum updates or even a wiki page on ddos to educate what will turn into salty krabs could do.
I hate to think how many casuals or smaller groups have been left totally blind to the communication because you missed this essential step in the communication process.
I appreciate the work you guys are doing to resolve the issue, hopefully you make good progress over the next few days and we can all get back to enjoying our game play time and spaceship explosions. o7

Chat issues appear to have nothing to do with the ports. I have added the old and new addresses for the chat to my exceptions list and am still suffering the same problem.
In addition I have tested the port and they are allowing two way connections with no issues.

Furthermore as highlighted by others when sitting in a system with corp mates each of us is seeing different intel regarding the local chat. For example around 6/7pm GMT in Mista on 2/2/2020 two of us saw 9/10 people in local with 2 reds while a corp mate was seeing 56 in local with 15 reds.
The issue here is obviously that the DDoS lag may not cause the loss of a ship but rather the lack of intel available through local chat would cause major issues especially when flying expensive ships through space.
Please can someone keep us informed on the details behind the reimbursement policy, I have not undocked for a few days even in high-sec because I have lost faith in the intel being shown in local and am worried that if I loose my ship in that scenario CCP would not relace the loss.
Awesome, I love your clear message. In the meantime, structures are being destroyed without our prior notice or they are running out of fuel because we cannot log in. These connection problems are a shame for any experienced software engineer. Instead of shutting down the entire server to repair and restart it, connections are sometimes made, but only for a few players. The rest later see what has survived. This is Political Suicide CCP.
