Be careful if you try to use the search feature at the top left of your screen. When I do my game stops responding completely until it finishes its search. The search also takes an unusually long time as well.
I can also only connect to the game by attempting to log in, dismissing the error and hitting connect.
Do you, I or anyone else on these forums need to have this or any other detailed information regarding any counter-measures being used or proposed? Of course not.
Why not? Bc this is a problem that needs fixing and to furnish an open, public channel with that information would be counter-productive at best and at worst would compound the problems by allowing any attack(s) - current or future - to be modified accordingly.
then give CCP prove that it is the neustar system. or … those who think they have proof that it is neustar. send it to CCP? i know they gice kindofautomatedreplies but believe it or not, they use the information. in one of my tickets was they actually thankfull for getting to know about the information that you can possibly login to the game if you get a launcher token verified and your client actually opens and then trying to connect a few times, you get eventually in. but then, those which cant login on the eve online page have no chance to get their account token verified and … therefore are completely locked out from the game … because you need a verified token from the launcher … otherwise get you just the error message "error login through the eve online client front end is disabled. please use the eve launcher to login at all times … which looks like this you eventually get that message aswell even after a verified token but thats only cause the token ran out of time and ya need to verify it again via launcher.
in short, you need connection to the eve online page login. without that, no token verification via launcher and without a verified token … no login since it will lead to the shown error message.

Initial login failed but clicking the OG connect button in the loaded client got me in. Did not stay logged in long enough to have a disconnect (yet). Chat seems to have loaded properly. Will provide another update later (and leave a few clients logged in for testing!)
Yeah, Clearly you did not read every post. MULTIPLE PEOPLE ran tracert’s on the server. EVEYONE OF THEM (myself included) dropped at Neustar. People posted it earlier. Maybe before talking smack you actually read what people put earlier?
Besides satisfying your curiosity and maybe a few others, it would serve no purpose. Once a day update is sufficient unless it is fixed sooner.
Logged in fine after the initial first attemt fails, click okay, then click connect at the bottom of the screen. Chat server would not connect. US west coast.
Being able to defend against DOS is definitely not out of most companies control. Denial of Service attacks have been around a long time, and there are ways of stopping them. There’s a chance that not enough effort was put into preventing them. A week of DOS being effective is pretty much unheard of.
Thank you so much for this. My only wish would have been that this kind of communication had started days ago. As part of the subset of players that still cant even get in…this makes it a little easier pill to swallow. The updates are super appreciated, thank you.
Thanks @CCP_Dopamine! Chat was a bit dicey yesterday but everything else seemed to work okay-ish from West Europe (better before downtime than after, if that matters). Typically, this is a tough thing to deal with, especially in high-traffic online things like this.
Have you considered that maybe their support staff might possibly have several thousand tickets to respond to, likely in the tens of thousands as a result of this issue?
Any normally staffed department would struggle with this kind of increased volume.
As much as everyone wants instant feedback, the unfortunate reality is that just like the rest of us, we are going to have to be patient.
