wut? i got instant a message from a GM called GM morrigan o_O and yes, other stuff which is right now not login related will now need probably longer since CCP is trying to get this frigging DDoS attack off from the servers. sorry that CCP is focusing on solving the connection issue! xD

Thanks for the info. When I do tracert from my location to tranquility.servers.eveonline.com, it gets to siteprotect.security.neustar fine, then goes no further. Is this who you are using to protect against DDOS attacks? Maybe you need to re-evaluate a higher tier company. They boast quite a bit on their website.
Is there going to be any type of Omega game time added to those affected?

at 10:25 est i called Neustar and submitted a support ticket to them directly and was told they didnt know they had severed the east cost from access, and they have indicated they will be treating this as a critical issue and will be sending me updates via my email and i will post anything they send me. : )
No I have Thought about that. And all the more reason they need NUESTAR GONE. it would literally correct the vast majority of problems at the current time. Maybe even fix CHAT too. But they do not drop them. It is clearly them that is the problem and it does not take much to see that. A simple tracert. Therefor, since it has gone on this long, it has become CCP’s fault.
People are more willing to tolerate an outage if they feel like the Administrator (CCP) is taking sufficient steps to curtail the issue. For that reason a more detailed explanation would be helpful.
There is this concept in IT that you cant delegate responsibility (to Neustar or anyone else). So you can use a Cybersecurity Service provider or an anti-DDOS service, but that does not transfer the responsibility.
As your post makes clear, some people are affected more by the outage than others, for that reason an explanation of the topology would be helpful.

As I have said, IT IS AN EASY FIX. Drop NEUSTAR. Easy. You need to realize that them stalling it out is what is pissing people off. Not them, getting attacked.
yap neustar seems to be the DDoS imigration system which ccp is using right now and as far as i understood it now blocks it regions which are “suspect” of the DDoS origin. which is … so seems it here the majority of the USA ö_ö
Yeah, blocking an entire region is good for a paid MMO.
When you grow up, you will understand your rights as a consumer paying for a product or service.
For the people complaining about no chat. Just think of this as the Blackout of Eve.
Instead of just NS, Now all of eve can enjoy the new content that local blackout give us.

regions may get unblocked tho. 2 days ago had i no access to the eve online login either (germany) =x it works fine now tho. aside from the chat ingame and that i need to try 2 up to 4 times to connect via verified token in the client. i dont have lags either but it seems that varies from player to player how their experience is after theymanaged to login. some instandly disconnect after they got in tho. =x
I think you missed the quip. Good on you. Region blocking is a good way to stop DDoS attacks for a paid MMO.
I’m experiencing the same problem. I’ve barely been able to log on since I downloaded and paid for the game 3 days ago. Often I can’t log in at all. When I can, I get kicked within an hour or even less when I do. While in game lag is an issue. I’ll often take a lot of fire from hostiles while waiting for by turrets to turn on.
This has been a common issue for me, occurring far more often than otherwise. I miss my channel peeps:(
While connection has been problematic, I have almost always been able to get through, simply by re-trying within the connection window.
Often it simply takes several cycles of clicking between the ‘denied’ box and the connect button; sometimes it takes a relog; and rarely I have to reboot the launcher.
While this was a HUGE problem initially, for me it has steadily improved over time. I Haven’t had a DC in days, and lag is minimal to non-existent now too.
I appreciate how challenging this must be, but am confident you’ll defeat these DDOS scoundrels! Hopefully sooner than later;)
