Blocking a region doesnt do much to someone hopping around the world with VPNs. If you guys are doing it just to play EvE, imagine someone actually intelligent in cybersecurity, they can be anywhere connecting to neustar. I can’t even launch game anymore btw, literally get “couldnt authenticate network” as a reason why the game doesnt even launch.

Can log in multiple clients no problem but now get constant pop-up message in-game notifying me of “Failed connection to live.chat.eveonline.com:5222. Please ensure this port isn’t blocked. Retry?”

Retry results in repeated pop up about 30 seconds later. Only once did one of my clients successfully connect.

And yes, I have tried opening port 5222 in my firewall settings…

Too many of you are getting caught up in “rights”, “EULA’s”, “TOS”, etc. This is a business issue. Eve was hardly the most popular MMO going in to this. Add the recent debacle of Blackout and CCP having to rebuild their playerbase after that mess. They really can’t afford too much ill will.

I was getting that earlier. happens a few time but after the client launches i cant connect.

No connection issues here, but no chat, no fleet chat and no local. Please fix that, there’s no way to play like this. It’s been too long now.

hmh? but thats how DDoS imigration works. the system looks from where it comes. if it comes from the USA then well, blame your DDoS specialists if you live in the USA ö_ö? anyways. it gets often written here too like “other MMO`s dont have those issues” that isnt true. back then in 2019 where blizz had the big DDoS attack had they aswell over 3 days issues. same with global ragnarok online etc. if something gets specificly targetted is it hard to deal with it and by now know we all that someone or a group/whatever is specificly targeting CCP´s login service. it is stupid to say “oh, other mmos have no problems right now” yea … cause they dont get DDoSeD right now. i bet all those ppls which flame here and saying its CCP´s fault probably flame aswell in the blizzard forums when blizzard gets DDoSeD and having issues to shake it off their tail and then write aswell “i unsubscribe and stop playing” … its total nonsense -- if you get what i mean <<

I’ve played this game long enough. It’s had it’s use, The fact that since I started playing this game it’s become increasingly less pleasurable to play, with now the inability to even log in has made it clear that 8 accounts later I could be doing so much more with 160 bucks a month. I don’t need the game, I have already enhanced my social circle with good ppl I have met through the game. Has nothing to do with me being one of those unsub crusaders as much as doing something better with my time and money friend. You can only stack so many straws on a camels back. o7

I live on the East Coast of Canada and connect through fibre-optic. I use a wired network connection for the stability.

This is the 8th day of being unable to play due to the technical issues with the client, chat server and game UI. Very frustrating. It would be nice if CCP stopped trying to fix what was never broken, or messing around with NulSec players and resources.

I was able to finally connect to the game and chat servers via VPN but it slows the game down to unacceptable speeds. The one ship I did undock was quickly rendered into a wreck and pod. Our umbrella has a hard time logging in, too.

I have missed the free skill points offered during the entire time that I have been unable to play on multiple characters. CCP what are you planning to do in order to make up for your product failing to deliver as promised?

At this point in time I am seriously looking for something else in an online game as there’s no point in playing an MMO when nobody can login.

How do you know it was working perfectly fine? You could have many missing people in local and never know

So you are equating 3 days of not being able to connect to over 1 week in some cases? I do not find those the same. Just because your region has started to allow you in. Does not mean much. 1 week is unacceptable.

Even if you had 1000 clients trying to connect to a port and only one connects successfully, it’s sufficient to know that this port isn’t blocked in the route. no need to open a port that’s already open

no, i point more to the fact that there probably was the same sort of peoples flaming in the blizz forums “blizzard is ■■■■, cant deal with DDoS attacks, i unsubscribe and stop playing”

at 10:25 est i called Neustar and submitted a support ticket to them directly and was told they didnt know they had severed the east cost from access, and they have indicated they will be treating this as a critical issue and will be sending me updates via my email and i will post anything they send me. : )

Regarding chat not working reliably, I noticed there is the Member list icon to the right of the gear spoke and if you click on it and click a different box setting and change it back it forces a trip to the server and people suddenly show in local that were not showing before. Assuming you can connect to chat that is…

That is actually a bad thing. It goes to show you that CCP didnt even try to contact them. Meaning the last 5 hours have been them doing nothing. It is sad when a consumer has to contact the DDoS company to resolve an issue.

Thanks for the update, it would have been nice to get an update earlier so I didn’t nearly throw my PC out of the window…

US South/Central here. I haven’t been able to reliably stay connected for the past week, and chat servers went down completely after the extended downtime.

If I connect through a VPN to the UK, everything works fine, but otherwise I can’t really do anything.

It should be obvious that this issue has been escalating. Even in your one example, you bring up 3 days of problems, we are over a week now. The situation with Eve’s playerbase will get exponentially worse every day. Doesnt help the game was already struggling to keep a playerbase.

FOR Lost SP being unable to use the paid for game time within more than 1/4th of a month
5 Million FREE SP per week on faulty game server accessibility.
