DDOS - Server denial attacks or any server distrubtion attacks of any sort is against the law if oyu wore to go down that route of dealing with it that way it makes you no better then them.
Off course it’s CCP’s fault.
At a minimum, even if they have no direct control over the practices of who they outsourced it to, they’re still liable under the law (the only standard I know for sure) as it’s not possible to offload responsibility for a corporate failure by contracting it out. In the US, that falls under a set of laws generally referred to as Sorbanne-Oxley (or “SOX” for short).
This is now a record DDoS attack (if indeed this is a DDoS attack at all and not some dumbassery by the devs that they’re deflecting responsibility for by claiming it’s a DDoS attack).
CCP is responsible for their business, end to end. That includes vetting their contractors for competence and capability.
If it’s CCP’s actions that have made this as bad as it is, if it’s a contractor they hired, it’s still CCP’s fault.
Windscribe as a VPN isn’t bad and if you do some stupid stuff like tweet about them or post to social media they up your data limit on the free version.
The ONLY way I can get in at all and not experience 30-90 second lag on every single thing I do is to VPN in through France. I’ve used about a quarter of the free data in the last few days so if I want to play long term and I want to use Windscribe, I’m gonna have to pay for it.
I’m not sure throwing good money after bad is the right choice here and I’m weighing my options.
All six of my accounts are no longer autosubscribing to Omega status. Three of them expire in the next few days.
CCP has until then to make me whole or I’m likely gone.
The Sunk Cost fallacy is an easy trap to fall into. Just because I have a good deal of time and money invested in this game doesn’t mean that’s a reason to waste money on it if it’s not going to be available.
what is the update for this Issues?? i am in EST and not able to log in every time i try. did check the ip ping and it stop at 10th ping as fail connect.

Today I was able to log into the game after about 12 tries. I did get a solid 8-12 minutes of station game play in before I got disconnected. I did try to do the daily skill spree thing but the lag and rubberbanding was to bad to allow that.
I am getting really tired of not being able to play a game, I have paid money to play.
Still having to log in after network error message, and chat not working at all on one account. This is from Switzerland btw.

It’s been over a week since I have had a decent connection to the game client.
Issue: Unable to Connect
Status: ON-GOING : first indication that there is a problem is when the login window appears blank for up to 2 or 3 minutes. I also have all the symptons that have been report d when the client does happen to appear, including it just hanging after I clear the initial failure to connect message box and manuall press the connect option.
Issue: Lag and Disconnect
Status: ON-GOING : disconnection occurs between 5 and 10 minutes and then the connection locks up until the next day. The lag is so horrible that the menus and display boxes sit blank up to 60 seconds befote being populated.
My Omega expires in about a week. At this point the game is unplayable BUT my situation has improved enough that I would be willing to give the benefit of the doubt and resubscribe IFF (if and ONLY if) CCP makes some statement about extending good will to the playerbase in the form of SP or something else.
I demand compensation for lost time since I can’t log in and the omega account is active
I want a refund for all of my omega accounts. I am paying for a service i cannot use, and have not been able to use for a week now.
I have not been able to log in more often than not, and the lag has been so bad I cannot play in a reliable way. Will there be compensation for this outage to folks paying for accounts that cannot play or will it be SP again? Will those having issues like mine have to put in a support ticket once the DDOS is over?
And so we begin week 2 with the same issues.

lol to cute. As for me I am patient. gone a year without playing thanks to other things so waiting a little longer don’t bother me to much. I am actually enjoying this thread to be honest if you can ignore the posturing dick waving idiots trying to sound like they are badass.
Anyways others might not be happy with this post but I know how frustrating a DDOS attack is and all the other things going on when you get targeted by something like this. Keep it up and appreciate the image if nothing else it does show you are paying attention to the thread even if you can’t give us good news you are not ignoring us.

Additionally, isn’t it kind of moronic for someone to only knock out the service for - in the main - people on the Eastern US Coast? I mean, clearly you are bitter about how sh1t you are at EVE and just as clearly you are thinking you could maybe get your ships back faster by implying (#implying) that this is the reason for all the problems but I would have to ask what the other games companies who are also having problems did to hurt your feels so very badly.
