Make sure you’re not DDoSing your self with the mobile app. see that happen before, lol
PVE mainly but PvP lasts a bit longer to investigate.
More of the same crap today. This is unreal.
Yep. back to imcompetent fuktards. stupid server keeps kicking again. Was doing good (ish) for a while.
Really unplayable tonight. I have played since 2005 and have never seen it this bad; i don’t know much about DDOS other than what it is but how can this possibly be resolved?
It’s impossible to actually play the game for days now other than a quick bit and then disconnect!
I can’t log in, but hey. There’re new packs available according to the launcher. Let me check that out.
This afternoon (2/4) was the first time since the DDOS started that I have been able to log in for more than a minute or two, and first time I could get in at all since late last week. US, Central time zone. So far, it’s looking promising!
Just tried to jump a system gate, sat lagged out on the gate for 5 minutes without being able to do anything…
I also cant get past the login to get to the support page
IF this is a DDoS attack, it’s the longest on record.
I’m seeing some evidence in-game that the problem is not just that.
Some commands consistently fail while others are immediately executed.
I suspect CCP was breached and that what we’re looking at is some internal mess (perhaps with a DDoS intermittently attacking to give cover).
At any rate, there are professional mitigation solutions out there that can handle anything. Github got attacked with a 1.5 tb/s DDoS just last year and had it under control within half a day.
There is more going on than they’re telling us.
I see “We’re trying” plot on the Eve Offline site, but being one of those ‘statistics’ who keeps bouncing in and out on disconnects at the end of lag-ridden and unplayable ‘online’ time, I’m not impressed with the efforts or those ‘statistics’.
If the solution includes regional servers, I really don’t care about the ‘loss of tradition’ anymore.
Someone is seriously POed with CCP and not letting up… Unfortunately, CCP are no angles here… They have screwed a lot of people over in this game and refused to compensate people for it…
Earlier today I was suddenly, randomly ejected from the game. Now I can not get in at all. From Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, the problem does not seem to be improving.
I want my game back! Please.
Endgame content appears to be working without issue
Oh it’s Real alright. This stuff got real the day it started bruh. Best you turn your faith and become a believer.
Mining ice since hours now. Had 1 disconnect shortly after I launched. The chat server did reset itself a few times. All is working well. I guess I am lucky?
use the time and check your IOT Devices and see if they have a Security issue and a Firmware Update.
Make it harder for DDOS Botnet builders to find suitable devices.
It drives me crazy how many manufacturers of IOT Devices not have given any thought to security of their devices.
Its not pleasant at the moment so we have to deal with it, i’m sure we get appropriate compensation when this incident is over. And maybe they release a basic version of the lessons learned Documents in the aftermath.
And i don’t understand all those who claim to be a professional in this particular field of internet security to be so emotional.
How would you keep the false positive rate down to a bearable minimum during mitigation?
with the Possibility that a part of the botnet is sharing the same network with the Player.
And which Professional would comment on so sparse data to infrastructure and attack-type/vectors that he could solve it in a few hours?
search for digitalattackmap and you find a map who shows DDOS attacks current and history. based on data from Cisco Arbor systems.
CCP keep on working
You will find a solution , but bit more information would be appreciated.
@Welton_Cubesure sure you have actual data? the longest Documented DDOS i have found was 509 hour long
securelist ddos-report-q3-2019/94958/
i’m sure that CCPis not telling us all at the moment, and i think that’s good so. while mitigating you don’t publish every step you have done.
The site I looked at said 247 hours, but I’ll defer to yours.
My issue is that there’s no reason I can think of that the “command, object, subject” data that pretty much has to be what is sent with a click on the UI shouldn’t be filtered out by content but I’m finding that certain commands have very long lag times and certain others do not.
That points to an internal problem, not a DDoS issue.
That Problem could be caused by the grown code base of the game some of it is already new other parts are still in rework.
