So you are busy blaming the victim of the assault. Lovely person you are.
How are they the victim? They lose nothing. The players do though since they payed for a not working service.
You really think DDoS mitigation costs CCP nothing?
You really think it has no impact on their business?
Of course they are a victim. Just because players are also a victim doesnât make CCP the bad guy
You think they pay for a not working service? Sounds familiar.
If they would stop the omega time from ticking down when they canât deliver the service they wouldnât have to be the bad guy.
Yes, CCP do pay for their servers even when access to them is cut off by a DDoS.
See your EULA/TOS, they donât promise literal 100% up time.
But a DDoS doesnât mean no-one can log in, and CCP donât know who can & canât log in, and who just isnât trying to log in. There is literally no way for CCP to track that information. Unless you want them to have literal spyware on every players computer⌠I mean it would be great for bot detection I imagine.
They probably own them. I was talking about the DDOS protection. I hardly think they will continue to pay for a product that doesnât actually work. Or maybe they are equally dumb as I am
The last time a DDOS came around I could not play for two weeks. That would be 50% up time, and yes you are right, CCP did not care I wasted 50% of my omega time on 4 accounts.
But obviously I was dumb enough to resub them after a month. Yeah itâs absolutely my fault for accepting this shitty condition once again.
There is something like courtesy in the favor of the client, itâs what decent companies that want to keep their customers do if they canât deliver a payed service.
There is also something called entitled customers.
Which you absolutely are here.
There is also something called whiteknighting fanboy
Which you absolutely are here
DDOS protection isnât a yes/no thing just as almost no safety measures are 100% successful, they lower the chance of easy and half arsed attacks. If seatbelts donât prevent 100% of loss of life in an accident does that mean we should just not bother then? No they still help in less severe accidents.
Also you canât 100% prevent a DDOS for services like this, the only way to do THAT is to shut down all connections and go dark.
Ah yes, itâs such a terrible fanboy thing to say âHey you know that company being literally attacked, they are actually the victimââŚ
Yeah, thatâs how we can tell you are being entitled, because you keep refusing to recognise that.
You are honestly a terrible human. And Iâm ashamed that you are an EVE player and to be associated with you at this point.
Because I criticize a company that repeatedly canât deliver a service and is charging their customers for it anyway Iâm a bad human? Wow, something is seriously wrong with you man.
I just tell how I feel about this and how I will not paying them anything anymore because I think it is wrong to treat customers this way.
I literally could not care less if you think that is justified or not or how terrible of a human it makes me to suggest I actually get what I payed for. Stay mad
Not everyone is having these problems and they canât know for sure who has problems, who hasnât and when that might change.
It sounds like youâre a bit of a Karen Karak. Youâre Karen Terrel.
