the problem with that is you’re either going to sit there blocking a million or so individual IP addresses or you’re gonna go “Eff it!” and start blocking entire domains just to save time.
Agreed. But blocking domains has a risk of blocking legitimate users as well. Its not an easy position to be in.

fact is: when you’re known to have the most expensive sub-game you should put your standards as high as the price you ask for your service. irrelevant what serverstructure you have. if that sort of serverstructure is not working anymore after almost 20 years work on a new plan and invest into it to solve these problems (that in the long term not going to get less). especially with being the most expensive sub out there the request of keeping quality and usability up with the time and not stuck somewhere in the past should be not something impossible. the whole problem would be half-as-bad if CCP would not constantly refuse to give any compensation in game-time for the lost days when stuff like that occurs.
as i said before, i’m less bothered by that with having enough other games to play, still saying that any sort of critisism is invalid as others did above is sorta beyond my understanding.

I bought via steam 4 days ago 20 € plex. Will this attack further delay the arrival of plexes?
caching is of no use for CCP… just so happens that state of eve is constantly changing and as a result there is no caching possible.
shouldn’t do, this DDOS is against Tranquility, not Steam.
Indeed. Most big recent attacks were using internet of ■■■■ to perform these attacks - as they are not properly secured or supported. Sadly this is not going to change until there is change in law that forces some quality onto commercial software (did you read EULA of most things? there are responsibility and guarantee voiding clauses in most of them)

yes but i sent a request to steam which tells me to see that with CCP and that the problem must come from them. I am afraid of not receiving my plexes.

Tell this to manufacturers of internet of ■■■■ which is typical source of attack nowadays to perform ddos. (many security holes making it easy to create enormous botnets that then can perform ddos attacks)

There is no “delay” in the arrival of Plex via Steam, or like only a few seconds.
If you have been waiting for four days you are already in trouble.
I hate ppl making comments like that. You want my stuff, come and get it if you skilled enough to kill it and take the loot.
People complain as they want their voice to be heard to improve things they care about. Problem WILL happen when they stop complaining and just move on…
