Trigs are not the first NPC’s to podkill
You were in the 2018 thread before it got implemented at all. Clearly, its relatively new, especially to 10yr+ vets.
It pisses people off. That’s the sole takeaway. You can debate the causality of it all you want. You can try to justify Stockholm syndrome all you want. The self proclaimed core playerbase LOVE that ■■■■. Normal gamers not so much.
If you haven’t played in years its not really surprising that things have changed, first thing i did when i started playing after a break was read to find out what had changed that was significant, this is the way of EVE
What does? mechanics changing and people not bothering to read up on the changes since they last played?
Sure, traditionally they didn’t and the majority of them still don’t, but, that doesn’t mean things don’t change and you can’t really expect CCP to give you a series of 5000 popups to tell you whats changed since you last played
unrelated.
Forcing people to adapt to new arbitrary mechanics that don’t bring anything to them is tedious by definition.
Blockquote it forced people to pay attention and learn
How the heck do you pay attention and learn anything when you warp into a system that contains no warnings, no information, no advertisement that it’s being CCP ganked, where you then lose your ship and your pod in under 2 seconds. WHat’s the less you expect people to learn from this? Never travel unless you are in a high-end battleship? Because even 1.0 systems are getting ganked by CCP today. It doesn’t matter if you pay attention or not. When you arrive you are already dead and no action you can possibly take can save you.
How about a warning at the gate before you jump through that there are NPC pod killers on the other side? I get warnings at gates when I am about to jump through a system Edencom has locked down, why not an NPC faction that attacks indescriminantely and regularly pumps out 6000+ DPS and attacks people unprovoked?
To ask WHY it happened, thereby learning about the triglavians, the game doens’t teach you everything and for some things you’re expected to have to actually do some research or ask questions
Well clearly it does affect you, otherwise the player in question wouldn’t have died, they are part of EVE now especially in caldari space, jumping in to one of 302 known systems puts you at risk of a trig encounter, all players have to deal with this regardless of their stance on the content provided, the same as any other hostile NPC’s like FOB’s
Adapt or avoid, i can give you a list of the 302 systems to add to your avoid list but it will render jita inaccessible
The warnings exist for the actual trig controlled systems, the other spawns are as a result of a random WH spawn being present in system, you won’t get a warning for that, its up to players like myself to run trackers to notify people of potential threats
Who cares ?
You are just full of ■■■■.
No, it’s up to each player like myself to get positive standing with trigs and then ignore them ; which IS tedious and a completely ■■■■■■ mechanism.
Thats an option, some people however like to fight the trigs to farm them, you’re free to gain positive standings and ignore them as you see fit but you are not all players so services are provided
Yes. Apparently that’s very very hard for people to grasp. Watch the causality trailer I guess.
apparently some people in jita somehow managed to lure trigs into hisec or something and the trigs camped gates and shot everything…i think they wanted to get loot but didnt want to lose their own ships to concord…anyways when i tried to get my ■■■■ back they already looted it all…so i switched to partial safety to maybe get some of what i lost back and then they ■■■■■■ me…pfft “high sec” …■■■■■■■■ there were literally concord marshals 15 km away high sec ■■■■■■■■ (also how can 4 damaviks 2 kikimoras and 2 drekavacs destroy a cane in less than 9 seconds its complete ■■■■■■■■ they all simultaneously locked and warp scrambled me in about 2 seconds how does a battlecruiser even lock that fast) this reply is probably longer than average size
i see trigs in new caldari trigs in jita trigs in perimeter trigs everywhere
That’s because there are Pochven wormholes open. Use the wormhole to get to Pochven and kill some drifters or rogue drones - the Trigs will largely ignore you after that (sometimes they bug out and attack anyway, but you should be able to get that reimbursed if it happens).
This quick lock point and scram is nuts. Came back and lost my travel tengu with max tank, quick align time. No warning whatsoever. Even when pointed i tried to AB burn back to gate but couldn’t even make it half way to jump range. This is the worst change I’ve seen in my 10+ years play time. Even nullsec rats give you a chance to warp off in anything smaller than a battleship. Why the hell do this instal lock point exists in high sec of all places. Even with neutral standings no less. If I was a newer player that encounter would have been enough to stop playing.
