Triglavian Invasion; A Good Short-Sighted Idea with Poor Long-Term Consideration

I think that’s more accurate?

Correct. Babying anyone would be pretty much a waste of time in the case of someone who is uninterested from the start, and a sort of disrespect and a disservice towards that person, the community, and the game in general.

This is why so much dedication was put into the Training Program to ensure that New Capsuleers are subjected to (the majority, or in the least the basics, of) every possible situation and career choice in EVE in a timely manner and with prior knowledge of most of what they are encountering. This is why by the end of the Program either some of my Graduates decided EVE is not really for them, or most of my Graduates hit the ground running and are productive members of the Corps they joined afterwards and formidable opponents you may have already lost your ship to.

But all the above is again off-topic and your comment has been discussed.
To remind us about the Topic:

He also thinks rather high of himself and about what he has to tell us.

To his defense, he actually has a killboard worth looking at, here:

Kind of a plot twist, considering the seriously strong carebear vibes this guy is sending into the ether.

I wish the forums would have a !remindme type feature, because I wanna come back a year or two down the line and show OP that he’s wrong.

I really want you to.

I do not. I believe I know my place very well and I think it is in place for me to say what I have so far.
Also, what does my zKill have to do with it?
In any case all it does is reflect the fact that I indulge in a broad range of activities on my one active character.

His killboard record is fine. Not a super-great ratio, but most of the activity is solo/small-gang low-sec stuff, which is really respectable. Much more so than some other people here, who have a few thousand null-sec F1 kills, and walk around acting like they’re hot ■■■■.

Oh you do. The wording clearly gives it away. Also how you capitalizse “New Capsuleer” as if there was any actual point in doing so. There isn’t. You’re just doing it, because it makes it look more important. To have it stand out. Emphasis on the “children”, as someone else pointed out, but even more so emphasis on the illusion that you really care about them.

You don’t. All you care about, is having people underneath you. You want them to feel like helpless morons who can’t survive on their own, otherwise you’d not have someone to look up to you and to need you.

You also see yourself in a position that allows you to declare that “it’s bad for all of them”, further indicating that you’re not actually spending a single ■■■■■■■ thought on the idea that not every single person on this planet wants his hand to be held.

You also expose that your understanding of people is extremely limited. It’s, to be precise, limited to what you want to see in people, which I’ve already pointed at above.

■■■■■■■■. A new player doesn’t even know the difference. A baseless claim,
without anything to back it up. No, the experience with your new players isn’t significant.

You see the world as a place filled with helpless victims,
not self responsible adults who might enjoy the dangers that lie ahead of them.

You remind me of the classic “lowsec is a deathtrap” carebear ■■■■■■■■.
It’s just in a different form.

■■■■■■■■. You deny the existence of every single person who disagrees with you.

I’ve gone through way too many of your kind to be fooled by such an amateur like yourself.

■■■■ off.

Knock it off and get back on topic. Thanks.

Aye aye, Sir. o7

You jump to A LOT of conclusions, very likely based on your extensive experience with these people.

And this:

…seems to be more true for yourself, especially since I do not believe that everyone has to be “handheld” as noted in several previous responses. I simply provide a service to those who wish to partake, whether they wish to be “handheld” or just want to get 2 years worth of info crammed over 5 weeks in a sensible and generally enjoyable manner.

I assure you that if you were to make an Alt, pretend to be a genuine New Capsuleer (although 80% of the time I can spot this), and endure the likely underwhelming-for-a-seasoned-veteran Training Program, you would very likely come back and edit this post to reflect more accurately the level of independence my Trainees enjoy, the spectrum of activities and knowledge they are subjected to, and the ever-present push to move on to a more ambitious future Corp (once the +/-5 week program concludes).
Nothing you said in the above reply comes remotely close to accurate to the reality of my self and the Training Program nor reflect the topic in the original post as it was intended if actually read thoroughly with subtext and within context.

Question for the long-serving players - did Eve have NPC’s of any kind when it first appeared ?

Not that kind of NPCs and mechanics.

What sort of NPCs were they ?

Player retention is a long time running subject that pops up on the forums fairly regular. Regardless of how well thought out the argument may be they tend to all end the same.

This is Eve, if you can’t handle losing ships, cargo, etc. then you probably should not be playing. Don’t matter if you are new or a veteran. CCP has already done enough to make it easier.

I think it’s great OP that you take in new players and hold their hand through the early stages of the game. The moment CCP starts holding those hands game is over. It will cease to be the Eve we that do stay, love about it.

You’re agreeing with me, but the whole thesis of my post was that your OP is stupid.

Is that something people who spend too much time on forums do?

I am agreeing with the one correct thing you said whilst pointing out that you completely misunderstood the approach of my Training Program and the point of the original post, but that seems to be something most people who spend too much time on the forums do as can be seen repeatedly throughout the thread.

There seems to be no way to clarify things enough that there won’t be numerous people arguing something that was never argued to begin with.

Don’t waste your time with those people, all they do is misinterpret what’s said and pick out the smallest thing to nag about in some feeble attempt to look superior.
