You have this bizarre idea that people are ‘defending space’. But no-one cares if people come into an empty system they have sovereignty over…as long as they don’t steal resources. It is the ability to defend resources and infrastructure that matters…not simply ‘we own vast areas of empty space’.
The important thing isn’t if someone can get in or out. The important thing is that the owner has the capabilities to stop intruders from doing harm. And there is an easy way for this: Fielding combat ships that turn intruders into wrecks if they dare to start trouble.
And if you can’t do that with the players you have online in the 67 Systems you have “claimed” than you have probably claimed more space than you should have. The solution is to never claim more space than you can actively defend at all times.
It seems we agree null sec cannot protect their borders but you seem to think thats ok, i dont
I don’t think we agree. You don’t have even explained what you mean with “protect”. Nobody in history could ever ‘protect’ a border. All people could do and have done is spotting and intercepting trespassers. And thats perfectly doable right now.
As long as you cannot economically prevent trespassers from fly around in cloak, come in and out from WH, in and out with filaments, and shuttles, then no, you cannot protect your space.
In theory you could have 10 guys standing by in each system, but that’s unrealistic. Null-sec should have or be able to create chokepoints and whoever guards them best deserves the space behind them.
Again: Nobody “protects space”. And never has in entire human history. And there is absolutely no need to. Especially it would have absolutely zero effect on “stagnation”.
Just ignore every argument and pretend your are still right. Thats nice
I have seen not a single argument in this topic, coming from you.
Then open your eyes
I wouldn’t be able to reply with closed eyes. There is just nothing to see. You know, some “lack of substance”.
Then be quiet
Which is extra funny considering he then accuses you of the thing he does himself: ignores reasonable arguments, just repeats (spams) the same (empty statements not arguments) and pretends to be right.
Of course not. Stupid ideas need to be called out, all the time. Worst things good men can do is standing by while bad things happen. You talking nonsense and promoting bad ideas over and over, lying and making up things over and over is something that has to be challenged. I actually like it to bust this crap over and over again. Make my day!
Are you the thought police?
Why are out-of-towners always trying to enshittify Null?
I don’t come down to KFC and tell you how to wrap Twisters.
Bakster Kane, you are going to have to be specific here.
What is the change that you want to see happen exactly?
I mean.. it feels like the only thing that this would resolve is how a single persons can hold a whole system ransom by sitting in cloak doing nothing, simply because people are afraid of being cynoed.
Which is not stagnation beyond people being bored.
I think my main problem with the argument is that this strict system is just the old system with extra steps.
Currently People can enter a system and steal stuff because there’s no one there to stop them.
In this system people would have to claim a system to steal stuff, but there’d still not be anyone to stop them. Because if there were nobody there in the first place, why would the new system change this?
Thank you for asking. It would be some good changes. For example an upgrade that prevented cloaking in the system. And two more upgrades, one that prevented wormholes from spawning and one that prevented people coming in and going out via filaments.
Then the only way into a fully upgraded system would be via the stargate, a titan bridge or conduit jump as far as i can tell. And that would be a big step forward for null.
