Well I was/is in similar boat, I have trained into Rorqual for over 2 years. By the time I have finished it was nerfed to crap. I think that when CCP implements huge and drastic changes, they should let players to extract and retrain skills for free and with no penalties. Because some of us are stuck with nerfed to ground hulls and/or weapon systems and can’t do a thing.
As for industry side I was producing T2 fighters, and making everything those things needs to be built. For me it was great adventure, to find out how thing work (tons of spreadsheets). And it was hell of complicated. Now add to that equation other players, RL issues, and other trivial things and everything from complicated becomes headache. That’s why players choose to do everything by themselves (at least it was for me).
There is also a trust thing, if you want to spread production of lets say T2 fighters between few players, there comes problem of trusting, because you need to grant them access to materials, bpos and other assets. While this game is famous for hosting the highest amount of people who enjoy betraying others trust. So we are again at another wall.
That’s my 2 cents.
I’ve been playing for close to two years now I think and I have lost far more in the abyss than I have made. I still like it in there, but it’s not at all profitable for me.

I used to make 100 million ISk per Machariel. Buying the Ores and BPC at price and throwing them in the oven. But moron industrialists ruined it by undercutting by 10000000 instead of .01.

I have one industry toon with > 50M SP and one with >10 and and they easily PLEX, GTFO saying its broken.

He actually addressed this when he referred to why people live around Jita. He’s also right, the markets are rather terrible for ores or much of anything else for the many players that don’t live near Jita, even for common items. I don’t know if the player base will compensate for this with increased shipping, but thus far, it’s hasn’t at all–if anything it’s gotten worse.
Unless you know how to market alt, or read a market website.

I’m sure you’re right…in minuscule and useless quantifies, scattered across dozens of places relative to
what’s required for an industrialist. Recently had the same problem in reverse, there wasn’t enough HS ore across 3 regions to buy and build a single cap–ended up making the trip to Jita to purchase enough compressed ore. The HS markets are in a terrible place–particularly for ores and their compressed equivalents.

LOL. Ever done industry? There’s many caps in HS–the OP even flies one. He’s got a couple choices of course: move near Jita, so he can get materials, join a large group with a dedicated shipping membership to help, or find something else to do–or just unsub (which is sad).

RN 1 hulk + 1 orca can pull roughly 50 mil an hour in hisec mining Plag. You can find plaq for free in all of empire, easy peazy. Please don’t say you cannot.
50 mil for 2 toons is soooooooooooooooooooo much more than I used to make back in the day. In fact the ratio of mining hours to monthly PLEX has kept up with inflation and then some. My time is my time & your time is your time. Every single thing I do in Eve is “free” because its done in my “free” time.
I don’t do a wide scope of industry as far as the many many things you can for in Eve. I can still make low skilled industry toons PLEX every month if I want. I absolutely positively cannot imagine someone with 7 industry toons not being able to make money in this game.
I remember how much of a hit my mission runners took when they redefined the ore system and nerfed TF out of mineral drops. Bastids.
Sadly this is incorrect. Plagioclase is about 30mil an hour. I have yet to encounter it in Amarr space.
With a Hulk + Orca you’d still make 60mil an hour mining Jaspet in LowSec.

Wow, you were serious. I assumed you had maxed or close to maxed skills.
JUST my strip miners pull 180k an hour, so 37M an hour @72% refining. So obviously I compress if I’m selling. More than enough to grab 50M when I throw out the drones.
I agree with that, I hate mining, to the point where I sit and wait and hope that someone will come blow me up and make me stop doing it. The only reason I ever (used to) do it is when I want to make something and my intense dislike of mining makes what I do get out of it much more valuable. To me the time I’ve spent mining was so bad I stopped doing industry completely, I’ve found it’s cheaper to buy what I want or need than it is to make it my self.

Yes I’m serious. You are making an error in your calculation somewhere. Mining high-yield Plagioclase with max skills and max boosts in HiSec nets just over 30m/hr.
If you have an orca set as the boss using yield charges I’m not sure what the strip miner yield maxes out at, but I get 180,000 per hour.
