Because legit players have to be a bit less like bots now?
Wait so when CCP said they are ridding eve of bot’s you think they meant the human kind too?
mean you guard or assist? second is not an auto attack.
It’s like people are so used to the status quo that they can’t take a step back and see the forest through the trees.
The forest is burning.
Pedro: this is fine.
Is it really good game design to have veteran players mostly AFKing multiple accounts as a normal thing in your game?
New players in Myrmidons want to have a word with you.
If you were looking in from the outside, you would conclude that no, it isn’t especially a good situation for your game to be so easy/low APM that so many players multibox their way to riches
Most do it because they have no point being there any other way. it’s not reaches, it’s the cost of nullsec.
consuming much of the PLEX off the market and keeping it out of the hands of other individuals to feed their multibox farms.
There was no way to multibox for plex for a while now. We were paying sub, ignorant Pedro.
This is long overdue.
No, this was not needed to happen. What needed to happen was some actual pve rework and anti-bot measures.
Instead, pve is untouched, and bots are buffed. Was that really needed?
the AFK drone meta is somehow a good situation
One account in nullsec wasn’t making much more than one account in hisec, lowsec, and wh space.
Nullsec scales with accounts, that’s why people had so many, and capital costs are just not affordable with one account, so you kinda HAD to have many, endorsed by CCP (power of 2 among other things).
AFK drone meta was the last thing which kept human competitive against bots, now it’s gone, boteve online has won, and morons like you think it’s a good thing!
Effort, skill and risk should determine ISK rewards, not the number of clients your computer can run while you watch Netflix.
I completely agree with the first statement, now to balance risk and reward, remove filaments, bring back Phoebe, undo MESS changes, and mining removal SO THERE IS A REWARD OF SOME KIND AT ALL, because currently there’s none whatsoever.
Second statement is just dumb and ignorant because with current ship prices no real player dared to leave them spinning without attention.
I didn’t realize how many lazy people there where in eve until this forum post. Maybe people will start realizing that drones are actually the slowest clear times for anoms and if they learn to fly their ships they can clear much faster.
Well, the polite way of saying lazy is ‘efficient’. And it kinda is efficient to let the the drones do the work even if it pays less, and then you can scale up the number of accounts to ultimately make more. But that isn’t really good for the game. Better to incentivize more lucrative singleboxing activites than encourage the dumb situation of people parallelizing drone bots safely killing NPC bots while the player does something else.
Removing this does little to active, single box players who use drones and removes the weird outlier behaviour of this weapon system. The only real problem here is that CCP waited so long to fix this situation and the issue with change management this causes.
Because legit players have to be a bit less like bots now?
Opposite.
We have to be a bit more like bots now.
Players could have afk drone boating, while a single bot can run 20 supers.
That’s what we have to imitate now. It’s like mandatory botting, of all things, why don’t you get it?
What they are actually doing is shooting themselves in the foot because they don’t understand what they are doing.
None of them (or the csm) are the types of players whose gameplay is being affected, thus they don’t see what’s being lost with the changes they keep making.
Its why blackout came as a surprise to them. And its why you never seem to understand the opposition to these changes and think of it as some kind of entitlement.
Its not, its the recognition that ccp is making changes based on ignorance that negatively effect the way some of us play and have played for years.
Just like the ess, there are probably a million fun ways they could have fixed the problem ( like when they added npc dread spawns that slaughtered afk ratters and bots but gave the rest of us more interesting ratting gameplay.) but instead they choose a nerf that invites unintended consequences.
How are players supposed to deal with ecm and damp heavy guristas and serpentis npcs now? What happens in the abyss when you can’t target stuff?
We have to be a bit more like bots now.
The bot-aspirants where already bot like enough to hide the real bots. Either this is now enough to allow for clear distinction or you are still too bot like and further nerfs are required.

So you admit to run bots?

Run that by me again, how making players MORE BOTLIKE increases distinction?
Actully, don’t mind, you don’t even understand the change.
So you admit to run bots?
I never ran bots. I invited CCP to check me thoroughly back in the blackout thread.
But with current changes, it’s a question ALL multiboxers must face: Do I have to start botting now? Because the last way to do it and not become a bot is disappearing.
Good changes!! If you want to play you have to play
So now I can’t fall asleep ratting and still not die as long as no hostile scanned and killed me? Narcoleptic people play this game too CCP!
like when they added npc dread spawns
This has not really been a good idea from my point of view. First of all the site does not despawned if there are other ships besides the dread and nobody is doing the site anymore, secondly it happens very fast that you get hit on the cap if you don’t do a warp after 5 seconds at the latest. I have already lost a BS twice because I couldn’t get away fast enough when I came into the side where a dread was already in it. So a bot can react much better than a player I guess.
Run that by me again, how making players MORE BOTLIKE increases distinction?
more AFK = more bot like players not the other way around. Now you have to do more things manual which makes you more distinguishable from bots.
But with current changes, it’s a question ALL multiboxers must face: Do I have to start botting now? Because the last way to do it and not become a bot is disappearing.
I mean you can also just drop the entitlement to a stupidly big solo multibox farm operation. That should not be viable anyway.

It did murder afk players.
I lost a few Ishtars to it while spinning my main on a carrier.
But the morons here still believe you can run a ratting ship and watch netflix. Speaking out of their ass with zero knowledge on the matter…
ROFL. Saved.

BOTS ALREADY DO IT “MANUAL”!!!
They are running carriers that do not have drone aggro mechanics, do you even know what you’re talking about?
If you want players to do it manually too, congrats, dumbass, you made them closer to bots.
I mean you can also just drop the entitlement to a stupidly big solo multibox farm operation. That should not be viable anyway.
I paid the sub for it, so drop your entitlement that the only way to play should be stupid like you.
New players in Myrmidons want to have a word with you.
New players flying a single Mymidon can press F just like every other new player who needs to press a button to activate their weapon system. This is nothing especially new here.
Nullsec scales with accounts, that’s why people had so many, and capital costs are just not affordable with one account, so you kinda HAD to have many, endorsed by CCP (power of 2 among other things).
Nullsec, or anywhere else shouldn’t scale with accounts - it should scale with activity.
Having a couple accounts to specialize or dualbox is fine. The is issue is when the APM of an activity is so low the best solution to the problem is just to spin up another “AFK” ratter. Sure people who are multiboxing massively are probably paying some attention to dock up when danger shows up, but they are still scaling their clicks horizontally, and the game should be encourage vertical scaling.
That is dumb and probably has driven more “casuals” looking to scrape up a living and PLEX an account than many things in recent years.
AFK drone meta was the last thing which kept human competitive against bots, now it’s gone, boteve online has won, and morons like you think it’s a good thing!
Lol. If becoming a bot is the only way a player can compete, you have already lost as a game designer. I agree, more changes will likely be needed here, but defending this situation as good game play is something only those who can’t see further than their wallet might do. I have not been shy to call out CCP on letting this near-broken situation linger and am therefore have to give them credit if they are finally making changes, even if very late.
So good on CCP for recognizing this whole nullsec anomaly situation needs work and to start fixing things. This announcement a necessary first step to get to a better place.
If you guys are smart you will start building ravens.
2-3 ravens sitting 100km off the beacon spewing fof missiles isn’t as afk as an ishtar, but its not pressing f on every target either.
New players flying a single Mymidon can press F just like every other new player who needs to press a button to activate their weapon system. This is nothing especially new here.
It was you who claimed that it was vet-only thing. Now you just try to avoid the subject.
Nullsec, or anywhere else shouldn’t scale with accounts - it should scale with activity.
Because Pedro the idiot said so? CCP said otherwise, why would I believe Pedro the idiot over CCP?
Having a couple accounts to specialize or dualbox is fine.
Those are murdered by this change as well, so your claim here is self-cotradictory.
Should it be fine, or should it be nerfed? This change nerfs it so apparently it’s not fine. Pick one.
should should should should should should should should
You’re literally going Olmeca.
That is dumb and probably has driven more “casuals” looking to scrape up a living and PLEX an account than many things in recent years.
Plexing does not scale with number of accs. If you dualbox, you have double work to plex, and diminishing returns apply in dualboxing, so now you have to farm even MORE.
So I’m telling you again: most of the multiboxers are paying subs.
Lol. If becoming a bot is the only way a player can compete, you have already lost as a game designer. And here where your demagogy fails once again, because a change that buffs bots should have been OBVIOUSLY done AFTER bots are under control. It cannot be first step.
