Upcoming Changes to Drone Aggression

Maybe you should take the hint that you’re not supposed to be AFK farming.

You realize this does nothing to combat bots, right?

Sure it does. By removing the ability to spend long periods of time doing low-input farming “legitimately” it makes it more obvious when a bot is farming longer than a human player would plausibly do it. It isn’t proof, of course, but it does make it easier to flag certain behavior for investigation.

translation: This is not a fight against bots, but a reason for honest players to switch to a bot.

Answer: Hopefully they do not make that choice but come on, aside from Chribba and myself, how many honest players are there?

This reminds me of my past MMO experience, clicking ores for each pickaxe swing.

Seriously? GFY, CCP.

Mining lasers and mining drones don’t automatically switch to a new asteroid to mine when the one they are currently on is depleted.

A similar suggestion would be to press F multiple times for drones to engage the same target, as they only fire once per button press, or to continuously press F1 to fire guns/missiles/lasers for the same reason.

Wanting to keep drone aggression as it is currently is the same as a miner requesting for their miner lasers to start mining as soon as they get in range or an asteroid, without requiring any player input.

Sorry, I must have missed where CCP said this is supposed to combat bots.

What? How do you think SRP’s are funded? Remove all the ISK faucets and the SRP’s go away

How is removing Drone auto aggro the same as removing “all” the isk faucets?

This literally started from a comment you made

The point is not to kill them, kid. You haven’t been paying attention at all if that’s what you think is the point.

The point is to make it require more effort to krab mindlessly and thus reduce the isk faucet in nullsec.

In the posts and replies in between, I expanded to discuss all the nerfs to ISK faucets in recent times. (mining Changes, Ratting changes, etc) to point out that if Null alliances don’t have the ISK to fight the battles that bring EVE it’s notoriety, EVE as a game will not get as many new players, since most of them come here after hearing about “Huge fleet battles” not “High sec ganking, Solo PvP, Stealing 2Mil from an ESS, etc”

Finally some good changes to reduce the leaky isk faucets in null

Is there anyone in favor of the new drone update that took effect today? Why does CCP keep engaging in behavior that is detrimental to gameplay and against the interests of their customer base?

Your whiney complaint is not worth another thread. Post it in the main thread and don’t spam the forums. Upcoming Changes to Drone Aggression

They want you to stop playing, I suggest you comply

As a drone user, woot that should cut down on afk farming.

While I liked my drones auto attacking rats while I was fighting, I’m totally behind this change IF it cuts down on afk gaming. If it somehow helps cut down on botting, then even better.

I think you mean why did CCP knowingly and willfully finally do what they’ve needed to do about drones for a decade now, don’t you? I’m pretty sure that if turret and (regular) missile users can target each foe directly, then drone users can manage to do the same.

It may make some types of AFKing, krabbing, and botting less efficient, but I have a hard time scraping up any sympathy for those. And for anyone who was letting them auto-target out of sheer laziness (which I confess to doing myself at times), well now CCP’s giving us all a free opportunity to develop better combat habits. Win-win!

I feel you dont know about auto targeting modules, and auto targeting missiles by that comment. You cant say “Regular missiles” LOL… they didnt nerf “regular drones”…
