Upcoming Changes to Drone Aggression

I don’t believe it.

Good thing facts don’t care what you believe.

I don’t believe it.

Good thing I don’t care about “facts”.

Someone’s facts are another’s fiction.

Now that’s some proper QAnon bs right there.

So reading why CCP wants to do this change, this isn’t a good way to increase “Attentive player interactions.” I’m not even sure what they mean when they say this but based on what route their previous updates have been trying to force players towards, I can only guess they think this will somehow cause more pvp fights because, you know, reasons.

This type of update will do nothing on this front because auto-drone aggression isn’t something that anyone I know of would automatically think is that important to get people to engaged in pvp. If someone can explain this logic to me, please try because I don’t get it.

Personally, this update is going to affect me little. Most of my ratting is done with old-fashion battleships and a mix of drones/guns. My drones have this annoying habit of targeting the wrong ships anyways. Not that I do any ratting anymore, what with the ESS update and not wanting to sit around and camp the stupid thing for up to three hours so that I can earn full credit for my ratting. I have other real life concerns to worry about. Knowing CCP, this update WILL upset a ton of players because they won’t announce it ahead of time in the right channels to reach the most number of players possible.

On a side note, I’m kind of surprised this thread went 200 posts before the rabid pvp folks found it.

 Thanks

So it’s clear that you’re committed to this fantasy world and also ascribe to a certain ideology about facts, which makes me think we’re done here. There’s nothing further to be gained from interacting with you. Good luck with your conspiracy theories and weird ideas about how the community devs work.

You and me both. This is just another online game. Those who spend days and night on it need to get a life.

Your hypothesis.

Supposition. What brings you to that conclusion?

Its your theory, CCP hasnt said thats the reason. It has no effect on PvP. Theyve stated it will not affect drones in PvP.

So why do you think its bad?

In short, behavior change for NPCs because ratting with a single button press per site is bad.

No behavior changes for PvP because, like you said, no one cared about auto-aggresion in PvP anyways.

Okay. You’re dismissed.

Good luck to you too, my friend.

  1. My conclusion is just based off of all the talk CCP’s been doing about trying to bring more destruction to the game and all the subsequent updates such as resource redistribution and the ESS being done with the expressed purpose of encouraging more movement/combat/destruction. I can only assume based on the wording of the OP that this adjustment is a continuation of this theme.

  2. I’m indifferent to this update as it’ll barely affect my own playstyle, so I’ll quote myself since you didn’t read my entire post .

Knowing CCP, this update WILL upset a ton of players because they won’t announce it ahead of time in the right channels to reach the most number of players possible.

Why? It doesnt mention destruction at all. Its stated aim is to reduce the ability for people to earn isk passively with drones. Thats really all there is to it.

They make PvP exempt from this, but how is maintaining that increasing the likelyhood of PvP?

Oh ok. “Think of the children” is a lot less wordy and gets your point across better.

Every thread on this forum is read by the devs? I don’t think so. The bulk of what gets posted here the devs aren’t interested in. There are some threads that they read, but for the most part, people posting here are just posting to other players.

They are fixing a broken isk faucet, so destruction will matter more for some players now, so in a way, it is indeed a continuation.

For some context, some people were complaining that now they won’t be afford to replace their capital ships for capital warfare.

Yeah, maybe you can agree with me here that capital ships shouldn’t be printed out every other day, and people should care a lot if they do lose a cap.

I have read your entire post.

Do you know why I started visiting the forums?

Because I wanted to be aware of upcoming changes to the game beforehand, and it’s also the reason why I started using the test server.

Most players don’t bother visiting the forums, reddit, youtube, or any other form of communication to get news of upcoming changes, or even to know what’s going on around the EVE universe for that matter.

Many don’t even bother taking a look at the dev blog post links at the launcher.

Is that on CCP?

Nope, it’s on the players.

Why? It doesnt mention destruction at all. Its stated aim is to reduce the ability for people to earn isk passively with drones. Thats really all there is to it.

Better wording on CCP’s part would be they want to make the use of other weapons more appealing for ratting. People rat with drones because it’s stupid easy and so long as you don’t lose the drones, has no logistics concerns in terms of resupplying your ship with ammunition.

I think saying what they actually mean is better than a sugar coated lie.

You me and CCP all agree, and at least two of the three of us think it should change to not being quite so super easy.

Take context into account.
I was clearly talking about this sort of thread which is about game design and changes.

Devs don’t have time to waste on moronanic suggestions and childish crap that these forum are full of.
And they have their own ideas on the game’s direction, they don’t need the input of selfish players, whiners and haughty trolls.
These forum were set up to give players an outlet for exchanging ideas about EVE, not to dictate what CCP should do with their own game.
If you think CCP read one word of the crap you call threads then I have a bridge to sell you in the Sahara.
