Upcoming Changes to Drone Aggression

You really are a dick aren’t you, you understand my point I’m sure, but had to make a shitpost. Eve is a game about both. If one of the key aspect of the game sucks and is boring, change it.

This is exactly what CCP is doing, by removing AFK PvE farming.

Sorry, I think I missed something. Is there something about level 4 mission frigates that makes them impossible to lock? Because last time I did level 4 missions my ship was perfectly capable of locking the frigates and shooting them with guns, or even manually commanding my drones to attack them.

The miner can warp back to station if they have to do something IRL. Or they can fit to perma-tank the NPCs. Or they can manually target the NPCs and direct their drones to attack. But I fail to see why we need to ensure that the game will play itself for you when you need to go AFK.

Oh, making me sit at the keyboard while my drones are slowly gnawing away at the drones is going to be so much more fun and rewarding.

As if “launch drones, go AFK while the game plays itself for you” is better?

Actually it is, it allows me to watch youtube or netflix instead of staring at the screen blankly while the drones do the work.

If your goal is to let the game play itself while you do something else why are you still here? Why not quit and move on to a game you actually enjoy?

Maybe you can use another ship for better engagement then, if it’s so boring seeing drones killing stuff for you, and even perhaps clear sites faster.

Otherwise, if you just want true dynamic and engaging PvE content, try out Abyssal Filaments.

So you don’t really want to play the game. You just want to collect and amass stuff while you do other things that interest you more.
It’s like a young security guard who works at night and studies for an exam while thieves break into the building and get the money from the coke machine in the cafeteria.

Because PVE is boring as it is, it is just a way to make money to fund some PVP attempts and amassing money to fund other ventures. There would be ways to make ratting way more interesting, making it require logis like in WH space, or else. But no, just boring wave after wave that you can easily speed tank and just send drones to slowly kill them. But y’all are right.

PvE may be boring for YOU but I don’t think you should take your case for a generality.
I like PvE as much as I like PvP. Sometimes it’s a means to an end and sometimes it’s simply entertaining.
And even as EVE is a PvP game, PvE has it’s place in the game’s world, even mining does, even if the ISK billionaires crap on it because they don’t need to do it.

You can always go PvP in something more affordable and replaceable, you know?

Do you really need to go out with a 1B ship every time you want to roam for some content?

Why not try out a frigate, destroyer, or other cheap subcaps every now and then?

If it’s because you can’t kill anything by yourself using those ships, then do some fleet content!

I never said the opposite, I agree it has it’s place, but it could be more interactive.

They could have added a new High slot module that “top” ships could install the aggressive AI, instead of deleting it once for all.

Yes.
And it could bring more ISK and have more loot and be able to be done in a shuttle and if my grandmother had wheels she’d be a wagon.

I was being snarky, but it wasn’t a shitpost. No one is forcing you to do content that you don’t enjoy. You don’t even need to do PvE in order to make money. Hell, you don’t even need to be good at PvP in order to make money from PvP. I mean, even I can do it, and I’m certainly no PvP god.

So, IDK, maybe stop doing something you hate, and stop advocating that it remain as boring and unengaging as possible so that you can continue to engage with it as little as possible.

It’s funny that you would phrase your position that way, because one could argue that that is exactly what CCP is doing.

But, you know, if you’d rather just keep on watching numbers go up while engaging with the game as little as possible, you might want to try out Cookie Cutter. Might be more your speed.

PI? Skill Farming?

I have 3 accounts so i will rat with my mach on my main and put out 2 cheapo 400 dps vexors on my alts in separate anoms. Neutrals come in I concentrate on getting the Mach safe and that usually means a Vexor gets caught, so I reship to a crusier or BC and try to save it (and usually die).

After this change those alts are going into FoF Ravens with MJDs that will be more expensive yes but also harder to catch (even with the FoF missile change meaning I have to be within 100 km of the rats) due to the ability to mount an MJD.

If CCP changes FoFs, then it’s in to Smartbombing Typhoons. They change smartbombs and I just keep the alts docked up (until I need a cyno or some other utility I have them trained for, like wormhole rolling) with learning implants and running PI farms.

The difference between now and the “docked farming future” is that those alts won’t be out there risking a ship (except for the PI materials pick up) to make me isk. Those alts will no longer be the bait for roaming gangs that then turn into actual fights as my bros come boiling out of that wormhole or anseblex in system to gank the gankers. They will no longer be available to be caught in the open as they fly to the escalation they were going to bookmark.

Who knows, maybe the positives of less isk generation (from anoms) will outweigh the costs. But unlike the cheerleaders here (who mostly don’t even live the null lifestyle), I know that their WILL be a cost. And ironically, that cost tends to take less of a toll on people like me (established null veterans) and more on people “downstream” (like those incursion runners who are about to find out that replacing their blinged incursion runner just got harder because fewer ratters mean fewer escalations which means less deadpsace loot which means higher prices…isk that goes into MY pocket lol)

TLDR for this thread. A bunch of people are mad because they want Eve to be more like this.
