So that handy drone AI that someone probably spent ages programming and fine tuning so that drones would do handy things in missions like focus on the closer frigates while you’re shooting the heavier DPS things like BS and Cruisers that your BS can apply better to … or tackle frigates that your BS takes a month to lock which are handy to kill faster if the mission goes wrong and you get full aggro (like on your 1st time in it) … that’s all down the drain now ? Such progress !

People seem to overlook the difference between active game play and torture and my aging limbs and RSI are not looking forward to this change at all.
An activity litteraly designed to be done passively to generate income for players.
It’s kind of like a planet farmville, with timers and stuff.
Is it worth though?
Compared to an active form of gameplay like ratting, mission running, or abyss, it isn’t, but if you like management games, it might be of interest to you.
Skill Farming
You require either Omega or a MTC for it to work, and result ends up as either around the same price you are paying for the sub/MTC, or you even go in the red.
It’s a neat way to keep a char you don’t really need any further skill training as an Omega with little effort, but as a way to earn income? Nope.
Ratting and Mission Running
PvE content designed from the get go of EVE, so it’s rusty and dusty, and definitely needs some improvement.
Is it a viable excuse to allow it to work like a passive income activity using drone boats while you do something else?
Nope, because CCP wants to keep the factor of risk&reward and effort&reward at a healthy level for every activity in the game.
Mining in high sec?
Easy, almost completely safe, AFKable, but really bad income.
Gas harvesting in WHs?
Hard and time consuming to even get in/out of a WH, high chance of death to both NPCs and players, don’t even think of getting away from your D-scan for a moment, but great income.
You litteraly mention how you will be playing on your main char and get two expendable ships to generate passive income for you without any needed inputs.
Do I believe that you simply don’t keep those chars generating income passively for you while you AFK for the whole day?
Maybe you don’t, but others do.
Now, let me remind you, and everyone still complaining, once again, you are still allowed to multibox your three+ chars.
Do you know that neat program that lets you see all your open EVE clients at the same time on a single screen, and change your mouse inbetween them on the go?
Just use that to change between clients and rat in your alts for the extra income, instead of simply leaving them minimized or alt tabbed.
That’s the minimal effort CCP is asking of you if you want to keep the easy extra income.
Omega is great especially when you are approaching the Alpha clone 5M skill point cap, so you can continue your training without having to rely on daily injectors.
By that point, you should be used to the game, and have some good expectations and goals for what to do in the EVE universe.
If you goal was simply to get rich, there are various other ways in the game for that.
Please don’t fall in the argument of veteran players that you need billions of isk to be active in PvP or etc, as you can PvP in cheap and replaceable ships all the same.
The current change is simply CCP fixing one of the ways lots of people got rich quick passively.
They already made changes to VNIs and other ships previously, so nothing new here.

Ctrl + click + F … 3 more key presses alone there … times each little additional target ppl now have to deal to manually. CCP would have easy ways to calculate a good estimate of the additional keying actions required … but I’m sure it soon adds up.
I am still much better abled than a few players I know personally that play this game (and just cause we aren’t so agile and quick with our responses doesn’t make us any less intellectually capable)
What you just typed out was 521 characters (with spaces) which is more than enough F key presses to clear out a site.
Did you develop carpal tunnel or RSI from typing that?
Btw, if you chunk those into the 3 key presses like you said, that’s enough to kill a little over 170 rats. If you’re so worried about strain on your hand from pressing the F key a few times, maybe you should stop spewing nonsense on the forums and save up what little finger mobility you have left for once the changes go through, boomer.

Mobility issues donot only affect the more mature players.
Yes definitely something that may fits many have to consider now.
But it does have limitations and there goes an otherwise handy Utility hi slot … plus you need to click to activate it

What amazes me most is that they’re convinced of their superiority while being blind to how lame they actually are.
Yes it is, and I won’t be doing it, Ill keep the alts on grid with fof ravens as long as that works and switch to them and press F1 twice every 5 minutes for them.
And since all 3 characters will be on the same grid and battleships (thus MJDs), ill be safer than before. I have fof missile blueprints and they are cheap to build so no big deal. If CCP takes away fof missiles, then MWDing smartbomb sweepers it is.
But then I was one of those that kept ratting during blackout…
Like those who (blindly and ignorantly) thought blackout was going to be this great thing, so to for those of you who like this idea. As usual, it won’t really negatively affect those of us who adapt (the real game in EVE is surviving the DEVs…). But it will affect others, and some of the most dissapointed will be those who cheered for the change without understanding what it means.
For years on this forum (well, mainly the old forum) I argued with the blackout cheerleaders who were SURE it was going to be great. I said “i hope they do it, so you can see why you are wrong”. It happened, it turned out just as we predicted, and the champions of it learned nothing.
This is about to happen again in smaller fashion (already started with the ESS debacle and mining changes, this is just icing, an icing that’s going to screw more than just null sec players), mainly because people think in terms of ideology rather than in terms of how human beings actually play a game.
I enjoyed the consequences of blackout, I’m going to enjoy this too.
It says a lot about you, none of it good, that your response to having to play the game instead of having the game play itself for you is to immediately find a different form of AFK farming and declare that you’ll cancel your accounts if you can’t AFK farm at all.
I hear and understand both sides of this on one hand this (in part) makes botting only a little more difficult (and that is good) how ever, i allso think that this in part all ready make a part of the game that is all ready broken, dull and way to ez. Even with “having to pay more attention” to very boring content… now the trig invasions those where fun i enjoyed doing that. But darn me they gave you no isk. All the good isk is in the boring afk sites… to me i think that they could make the pve content more fun rather then just forcing you to do it while staying awake. Give us a reason to stay awake.
If you fall asleep on a game it’s time to find another game that will keep you awake.
Maybe EVE has gotten boring to you. I understand. I used to play Planetside 2 and did for two years. Then I got bored… I simply uninstalled it. I didn’t go to their forum to demand they make the game more interesting for me.
All games get stale when played too much for too long.
Im not bored of eve, im speaking of other player not me. I do Incursions for isk a very non-afk pve thing. How ever im speaking that if they would just make content more fun to do then there would not be afk pve.
