Upcoming Changes to Drone Aggression

You know i can accept you dont have a problem with this change.
So why cant you accept or at least tollerate people indeed have their problems with this change?
We do not have to agree or get dirty over this.

Yes

I said people who where managing drones before would not be affected. You said I was wrong and you would now have to manage your drones. How is that wrong?

Then stop playing, cancel your sub and please stop crying that easy mode has finally been turned off.

What No - Yes? Where do you want this to go?

But this is not the case. As explained above several times by several people allready.

Why do you want players to stop playing your game?
I am not crying here, i’m really trying to explain very reasonable and respectful why i dislike this.
Contrary to you i do not want you to quit the game only because we disagree on something in the game we both obviously like.
“Stop playing the game, leave, cancel sub, easy mode, be boss” Honestly that reads more like ‘crying’ to me.

This is to draining to continue any further.

i should have left right there.

Follow the arrows. You claimed I was wrong then stated the conditions you needed to be in for it to be correct were the conditions you chose to be in. Im not sure where youve lost this but start with where you replied to me saying that those who manage their drones are unaffected.

And others have said it is. At best, thats an empass that simply repeating “youre wrong” will not over come. At worst its just two groups of people disagreeing over an obvious “on/off” setting change.

Show me where I said that. Its not “my” game. Im not the one making the change, though I support it 100% Im also not the person who is caiming to quit if I dont get my way.

I support people quitting if they find the game boring though. But at no point do I ever encourage quitters unless they said so first.

See above. Id prefer it if you stayed and lived with the removal of AFK mechanics. You seem the sort who is thoughtful in general but have a blind spot to this.

I also appreciate that you have not resorted to rudeness for the most part and do seem to be trying to make a sensible case.

But as I reminded people before, its not my decision or my game its CCPs, and if they dont want AFK ratting play, I say more power to em.

I also think that you misunderstood “show CCP whose boss”. Is the idea of using buyer power to leverage a company not what the go to is when they make a change tge supposed majority of the player bade dont like? Vote with your wallet?

well whatever, fly safe o7

Hopefully not, if this change is one of more to come.

Probably the same reason people who dont like the change cant handle those that do. No one leaves it at just a disagreement, they have to make a case why they are right and the other is wrong.

In this particular case though, its really down to whether afk rat farming should be a thing. I very much disagree it should, and see no harm in this system being switched off.

No one who has argued for it existing has made any point other than “but in other situations…”

In other situations the drones being automatic is not their primary function, and so its not going to be difficult adapting to it. The resistence to this adaptation is the evidence that many people are comfortable with this function.

If you have 15 people using it to help Abyssals compared to 1000 people using it to afk rat, its not surprising the 15 will feel targetted even though its not aimed at them. But the overall benefit to losing that 1000 extra 70m ticks is the objective.

The 15 can easily overcome the change, the 1000 cant.

Several people have posted flawed examples they ‘claim’ show active people are punished.
There are a couple of real ewar examples where impact matters, and those have already gone to CCP, but those are highly niche ewar examples anyway.
But otherwise no-one has actually shown the effects they claim, they just post vague 1 line sentences like you are and say it’s proof

Even if I agree with you, has someone already invented the time machine?

There is such a thing as maths, or decent examples that clearly show it. We’ve had none of those. The examples we do have we’ve debunked or addressed as minor or non existent impacts through showing of actual ship fits, actual numbers.
It’s a lot of noise about issues that aren’t real.

real issue! I must feet some sensorbooster or signal amplifier now

Might be worth pointing out that ‘the little’ guy in his barge (enjoying a corp mate’s or a friend’s orca boost) temporarily saw the revenue for compressed rocks go up on average, while veldspar is back to its previous levels with a splendid supply through more exotic sources tapped like mission rocks, the price for pyerite has doubled and still goes up.

Pyerite - EVEMarketer

Does anyone even target pyerite?

As minerals have gone up in price slightly due to ‘market things’, the price for compressed veldspar appears to drop mildly below levels prior of the change.

Compressed Veldspar - EVEMarketer

Tritanium - EVEMarketer

They shouted ‘the end is nigh’, but it turned out mere hysteria. Plus you can mine in lowsec now and not hate yourself for it.

Compressed Crokite - EVEMarketer
(You can use rorquals to mine that, and gentlemen’s agreements are mostly in place by now to not drop your neighbours’ rorquals, so the supply might increase soon)

Similar to the ore changes, the changes to drones and their effects are completely overshadowed by the hysyteria over no longer being able to dabble in degenerate gameplay, rotating multiple gilas, rattles or stabbed ishtars through SOV anoms. The world isn’t falling however, not everyone does that, a certain kind of player only does it, generating a sizeable amount of ISK. ‘The small guy’ doesn’t have 5 omega accounts, the small guy might also not dwindle his existence away in SOV anoms looking at 1 gila circling around.
Insisting that an activity that scales directly with number of accounts disproportionally affects ‘the small guy’ is a case of ‘But the children!’.

The rich will remain rich, but all too frequently the rich got there ratting in carriers, eventually supers and maybe bosoning rock havens for fun, rather than earning 150b in bounties using a single gila. They might’ve gotten there mining ABC moon rocks in multiple rorquals. You don’t get rich with 15mil ratting ticks, unless you have multiple accounts running all day long, which is not something ‘the small guy’ does casually.
A sizeable chunk of players runs missions in highsec, a minority rotates drone boats through anoms.

Same as for the ore changes, this will have consequences, but I don’t see how it affects people that actually play the game besides an insignificant hit to convenience and a minor buff to the value of your eventually earned ISK.

I see many arguments that want to stress how vitally important it is for people to continue to rat AFK because of the colossal amount of ISK they need to contiune their other, more exciting activities …

BUT

These people mostly have taken for granted their entitlement to carry out these more exciting activities in Carriers, Supercarriers, Dreadnoughts and Titans.

‘But you can’t cut our AFK ISK faucet … because then we can’t drop 500 Titans on each others Keepstars …’

Err … fly a Laser Merlin?

Laser Merlin Online.

But no … you have to have Titan fleets.

I’ve honestly never seen a playerbase so utterly obsessed with the size of its wallet. I have played just about every noteworthy MMO going since the 1990’s and the sheer scale of the greed in EVE is truly staggering and actually rather depressing.

Many of you have been allowed to grow incredibly greedy for far too long and EVE has become a nonsense of over abundance and extravagance as a result. This is what CCP is trying to address, but I don’t think they can without upsetting the greedy who will simply whine, riot or even rage quit as they recline on their velvet chaise longues.

Everywhere I turn I see people boasting about how many billions their multiple AFK accounts make them per week. It’s repulsive.

Hell, most of you don’t even pay CCP for your accounts because of the above, and you expect the game to thrive somehow?

It’s simply been allowed to go on for so long that it is probably beyond being repairable.

BUT …

At the very least …

be at your damn keyboard while you play. It’s not much to ask.

If the intention of this change is to make Bots more attractive and PvE Stuff less attractive to active players… good change. Well done CCp, that’s a very good, clever and intelligent choice.

(yes, that was sarcasm obviously. Just pointing out because some peeps will miss it)

How does it make ‘PvE Stuff’ less attractive to active players?

Active players are people who do things like pressing F to make their Drones attack things.

Also, re:

This is applying the logic of a broken game to change, in order to justify not changing a broken game.

You’re implying we have two choices only: AFK rat or cheat with bots.

Is EVE really that broken??

(You don’t have to answer, I know it is).

In a HS mission with 20+ frig NPC’s, I can put drones out and let them take care of tedious little roadblocks to the next room, while I manage my tank/position/larger targets. I feel plenty active, already.

eve is already like 1 apm during pve unless your min maxing and flying your ship manually which 99.99% of people don’t, can’t imagine people these days playing Star craft their minds will explode.

No wonder RTS games are so rare these day’s, the main stream players can’t handle them.

But… mining is not impacted at all by this change…???

And if you want to cheat, that’s up to you, I don’t really care.

Maybe he doesn’t realize you have to manually assign mining drones to roids already and just wanted to complain about something.

Can’t wait for ccp to go further and make drones into squads of 5 for every ship, and make more apm required to seperate the skilled from the lazy even further.

Maybe you do, but expecting to be able to, or worse actually feeling entitled to be able to, completely ignore 20+ enemies because something else will handle those for you is just evidence of what’s wrong with the old way.

That you relied on it, became complacent because of it, lazy even, to the point you consider dealing with only a 3rd of what’s in the room yourself ‘plenty active’ is not evidence that it was good.

Quite the opposite.

You basically just said ‘I am lazy, I have been allowed to be lazy and I would like to continue to be lazy, thank you very much’ - this is not admirable.

Were you to demonstrate some way in which it’s not possible to complete a site without Drones auto attacking things for you, fine, but to demonstrate only your laziness and consider that a good enough ‘case against’ is fascinating really.

You’re not the only one of course.

EVE oozes with lazy complacent people.
