I reiterate:
Ratting is being active. Pressing F does not make me more active.
I reiterate:
Ratting is being active. Pressing F does not make me more active.
It does make it far more active compared to people who do not press F …
… and just have the client running AFK all day, with their drones farming spawning NPCs.
Like Orcas in COSMOS sites, but not just Orcas in COSMOS sites.
Are you’ve just identified the root cause of the problem ccp should be addressing not the blanket approach that will hurt the average player.
How?
Manually controlled drones equates to less drone loss and damage and more efficent application of DPS on the required target.
There are far far more instances where manual control is superior.
The average player is not hurt by this change.
Because the average player probably uses more than one account to rat to make enough isk to enjoy other part of the game instead of spending 10 hours to rat enough isk to buy a doctrine ship.
“There are far far more instances where manual control is superior.”
You mean carrier ratting versus using 3 or 4 drone boats to make the same amount of ISK?
So what? Why does the fact that multiboxing is easy for AFK players to do considered an excuse to keep AFK play easy? Here’s a hint; its not, its another reason why this is a good idea.
I mean what I say; the vast majority of play that involves drones that isnt afk is superior when its manual.
The volume of isk is not a measure for superiority, especially when the stated goal is to reduce non-attentive and/or AFK play.
Of course its going to nerf AFK ratting income, thats the point.
But if you arent just dropping drones and letting them do everything for you, then this change will either not affect you or it will be a slight inconvenience to what you are used to.
Null bears don’t read posts or dev blogs. They are only capable of interpreting information that they digest when suckling their masters teat.
If it’s not fed to them by leadership, they literally cannot comprehend it.
It’s even a general phenomenon covering apparently all bears …
… where reality is defined by their thoughts, not by reality itself.
Bears have far too many 1984 vibes and I really hate that.
You’re defending keeping the broken thing broken because ‘the average player’ does it.
That’s not good enough.
A lot of people play EVE in a very broken way to the point that EVE is a very broken game.
That’s not good enough.
Something needs to change and ‘but muh Carrier’ is not a good enough reason not to change it.
Oh you mustve missed it.
Now its “Muh 4 x Carriers, this is unfreedum”
So it boild down to them selling the game as “An open sandbox, where you can play the way that you want*”
*so long as the way that you want, is the way we approve of.
Well…Yeah.
They aren’t going to let you play the game in a way they disapprove of are they?
That’s why poor gameplay gets nerfed or even banned.
>When you get called out in a thread so you have to run away to a second thread, lmao
Sort of like the old model T, where you could get it in any color you wanted, so long as that color was black?
I’m reading the replies and I’m still not seeing a single argument for this change where I think, yes I can now see why they are making the change. We’ve gone from.
It seems a lot of people are deeming pressing F as an increase in attentive gameplay, a way to reduce farming, a way to reduce farmers and this will fix the game.
Never heard so much bollocks in my life. dull game play is dull game play, it’s still going to be low attention gameplay only now you have to push F whilst at the same time reducing the number of potential targets to hunt. You lot need a lesson in correlation and causality and more understanding around discovering the root cause of a problem. And by the way, low attentive game play isn’t the issue.
You’re refusing to accept CCP’s argument for the change, which is the only one that matters, what do you expect?
CCP literally told you and you went, “no, there’s gotta be another reason!”
Attentive, not active.
It isn’t about clicks-per-second (or some other measure of activity), it’s about actually paying attention to the game as it’s being played.
Ratting provides good income with the trade off now, that drone boat pilots will need to be as attentive to the game as someone using a different weapons system.
You may not agree with CCP but no one gives a crap. That IS the reason.
I know it’s a shock that the world isn’t filled with people that agree with you, but you had to grow up someday.
If ratting wasn’t a boring grind, a grind that is necessary to compete in the more interesting forms of the game players wouldn’t use afk drone boats to run them.
I’m not ignoring what CCP wants to do, however, forcing people to sit and press F isn’t making the game more attentive. drone AFK boats make, on average, the same as a ratting missile boat does.
No one is being forced.
Everyone can do something else or quit any time.
Many of us here really wish people would actually realize they should just quit …
… instead of wasting time and energy whining about it, while achieving literally nothing.
You, to be fair, don’t seem to be whining.
You’re just … hm … slow, I guess.
