You say so often that most people play on Win10.7 December due to the drop in online, letâs see how right you turned out to be!!! It seems to me that you are very out of touch with reality.
Huh? I only said stuff about Windows 7 and 8. Idk about Windows 10 lol. It was like the ugly cousin of Windows 11 as Microsoft was making Windows 11. 
The Windows 7/8 community is 1% even if that across most of US gaming. Your community is most likely less than 1% playing this game. I respectfully rebuke that as the reality is most people are on Windows 10/11.
Microsoft releases Windows 12 id be happy to go over. Donât blame CCP. Blame Microsoft. At the risk of sounding like a white knight here.
You are not playing any modern AAA title or any modern release by companies large and small. (At least on Steam. THE KING of where anyone can buy games)

I am not afraid of a community so small and all the words they can throw at me. I feel the need to counter this with the upmost amount of logic I can muster here. For the good of EVE and CCP and I find it fun laughing at older tech. 
Canât play on a 2010 rig sooner or later.
CCP has been throwing mountains of money away supporting unimportant windows 7 users. There is no profit supporting windows 7.

My 12 year old Sony VAIO VPCEJ has been upgraded to Windows 10. EVE Online runs fine on it. 30 to 56 FPS but a bit slow when I undock in Amarr or Jita. Itâs a gaming laptop so itâs very close to the minimum specs.
I also own a more recent (only 10 years old) Sony VAIO SVE11B11M from 2013, has been upgraded to windows 11. It takes a while to start EVE Online but thatâs because itâs not a gaming laptop so it runs around 14 FPS. It has a 154 passmark score, just above the minimum of 136. Also itâs shared memory 512MB which is half the minimum specs.
Iâm ready for the next decade. Potato power!

You wanted somebody who cared about their Win7 setup enough that they mentioned that it might or may result in them leaving New Eden.
Now me being the hero here and you clearly pretending to be the villain demanded that person to contract all their wares to someone else without once thinking of how much trouble that would require!
Wouldnât it be better off to mention that the person wanting to quit due to this pending change in their path could actually just log out and wait for a future date after their pc system is working under Windows 10?

It would probably be an Ibis or a frigate because Windows 7 rigs in general have such poor CPU/PG stats.
Now my Golem has tons of fitting room. Just like my glorious gaming laptop Good CPU and PG on my golem and laptop.

I use Ubuntu but Iâve heard strong recommendations for Pop_OS, Pop_OS is based on Ubuntu
I couldâve wrote a wall of text but wonât. I doubt itâll change anything, and all this was much better and professionally discussed on one it-forum between some programmer whoâve cracked and added win7 support for chrome(not chromium) and google engineer. The summary was that all this âhardship of legacy supportâ and âcapabilities of old and outdated systemâ is utter â â â â â â â â from programmerâs perpective vs cost of development from googleâs position.
The only question i have for CCP is this:
Why do you have to hardcode such restriction? Why not simply add âuse at your own riskâ and no support for such players motto in a launcher? Or will it just show that itâs not that hard to âsupportâ as it looks, that is why?

support for 7 should have been ripped out in 2021 at the latest. it was already long dead with massive issues and enormous security holes that havenât and wonât be fixed. the devs are doing themselves and the playerbase a huge favor just by preventing people using an os thatâs impossible to secure in this day and age when dozens of high-level unpatachable exploits are just there for abuse.
honestly killing 8 is on time for once. something very few orgs do. god my nation pays 10s of billions of dollars a year for 2 windows 7 updates for service pack one and 1 for xp service pack 2 . this stuff needs to die.
that and the fact that windows 7/8 use combined are such a tiny minority. and the vast majority are reported as government legacy systems. like how xp is a âlegacy, but required systemâ in the medical field for some stupid feature they killed in xp sp3 in mid 2008.

there mitigating issues before they happen. both software and security-wise. ontop of Windows 7 now crippled support across the board for gaming (not that it ever really had much real support to start with). its also likely a Microsoft partner thing, they did partner on the excel deal. and ms typically pushes partners to kill legacy support within 12m of the curtain call.
honestly, people should be thankful they got another 3 years after all security and software updates stopped.
