The first Abyssal Proving Ground event of Quadrant 3 has begun. This event allows pairs of Tech One Combat, Attack, and Disruption cruisers enter the proving grounds and will run from 16 July to 28 July.
The rewards for winning specific proving ground matches during this event consist of an abyssal cache that contains a variety of standard Abyssal loot as well as new exclusive character apparel.
So, just exactly what is meant with ‘specific proving ground match’?
Also ‘Event’ is the wrong term to use. An event gives rewards to everybody who participates in the event.
This is a competition between various teams with a Leaderboard that gives special rewards to the winners.
I believe the ‘specific’ is being used as a synonym for '‘individual’ - as in rewards on a per-match basis.
I have zero issue with multiboxed earning of per-match rewards, since each account still has to use a filament. The top 100 leaderboard rewards gets more shaky, in my opinion, from the perspective of fewer players involved in earning the rewards. But as I said before (in the thread about multiboxers in the event), I don’t really see a fix for this.
CCP wanted to remove confusion with names … and introduces more confusion with modules. Search for multi and you get all sorts of conflicting and unrelated stuff showing up.
‘Multispectrum’—‘somewhat effective against all four types of [damage / sensors]’, rather than the greater effect against only one that all of the specific types of [shield hardener / nanocoating / ECM ] get.
You see Armor modules, shield modules, jammers and even ammo. Before and with the specific item names you saw only exactly the item you were looking for. If you wanted the shield hardener, you would only find the shield hardener if you searched for Invul. If you searched for Energized Adap, you would only find the armor hardener. Now you see all these things as results and have to know what you need and you have to read the entire text string to get the right module.
Yeah during fitting my ships I also recognized I have to rewire some “Forward search helpers”
Adapt …–> multispectru…
Anti does not work anymore
Bot when I arrived at my third ship the new words began to sink in.
So in the end I am still a fan of tiericide and look forward to Ammo tiericide.
Is there any Schedule to fix the Drop rates for Condenser Ammo BPC’s so that the price of this ammo drops below the +4000% build price on the market, Or even release the BPO’s to the market for manufacture. I have a fully kitted out ship i can’t use due to lack of any ammo.
Oh my god! You have to read! You have to read enough to go ‘This says “shield” on it!’ or ‘this says “ECM” on it!’. Literally the next word in all cases.
And really, you’re going to complain because Multifrequency crystals get included in a totally different ‘ammunition’ section of the list?
When you search for ‘EM’ does it upset you that ‘EMP’ gets listed, too? When you searched for ‘Proto’ to look at prototype modules, did Proton bother you? Do you get annoyed that if you type ‘Caldari Navy’ in, you get ALL SORTS OF STUFF?
Hello @CCP_Dopamine any chance of getting the release notes in a forum thread that we can subscribe to so we get notified when a new release is pushed? There is no way to get push updates for the patch notes.
Yeah, I prefer plating to coating. Plating has some heft to it, coating is sprayed on with something you buy at a hobby store.
When I fitted a ship with an Invulnerability Field, I felt, well, invulnerable. When I fit with a Multispectrum I see dazzling lights, rainbows, and unicorns. Wheeeeeee!!
Which is why they renamed it - new players thought it actually conferred more defensive benefits than the reality. Not saying I particularly like the new name (damage types are not a spectrum - why not use ‘class’?), but I understand the motive for not calling them Invulnerability Fields anymore.
Yes, but if we were going to expect technical accuracy from CCP, explosions are kinetic energy, and let’s face it, temperature (thermal?) is a measure of… kinetic energy at the molecular level, while radiating heat either requires a medium (for kinetic transfer), or enough energy to cause quanta emission. So you’re basically looking at ‘radiation damage’ and ‘impact damage’, and that’s it.
Still nothing about the various bugs plaguing the Market.
Buy / Sell orders for some items are not being listed in the Market Interface and players are still spending ISK to place those orders.
Example: Women’s ‘Farsight’ Augmented Spectacles
(currently no Market listing in-game yet 3rd party Market sites show active Buy / Sell orders for that item)
Other items are listed in the wrong Market category which adversely affects Buy / Sell orders for those items, basically players won’t see the item listing when browsing the correct Market category.
Example: Women’s Sisters Of Eve Advanced Combat Suit
(currently listed in Apparel / Men’s Clothing / Outerwear)
Women’s Capsuleer Day XVII T-Shirt
(currently listed in Apparel / Men’s Clothing / Tops)
These issues have been active in-game for months now, are you guys even looking into fixing it?
Thanks, I already posted it in his CSM 15 Week 4 Update thread. Brisc Rubal said he passed it on to CCP who confirmed they’ve got an internal ticket about it.
Still though, would be nice to get some feedback from them about the issue. Course I don’t expect an ETA for the fix, just a simple statement that they’re currently working on fixing it would be nice…
