Yeah they are still on the eve app. I went on at work yesterday hoping to get a head start on reallocating skills. Saw the old skills and left well alone. That was just a mess waiting to happen
For the love of God Eve Anywhere doesnt agree with me when trying to copy the fit:
2 Shield Extender II
2 Multi Hardener
1 EM Amplifier I
1 Thermal Amplifier II
3 MLU
2 Strip
not sure what is missing but right now if fittet 76k EHP with 35 CPU missing. Roughly as before, just not working anymore.
So the Orca is now basically the exact same as before, except it boosts better? I must be missing something, as I thought one point of this patch was to move the Orca more into a boosting roleâŚ
Its not clear which are mods and which are rigs.
Skiff only had 5 midsâŚ
2 Shield Extender II â Rigs
2 Multi Hardener â Mid
1 EM Amplifier I
1 Thermal Amplifier II
3 MLU â Low
2 Strip â High
and as said not sure whats missing. I guess either a Propmod or another Amplifier
I guess in order for it to be the same as before you need another skill trained to VâŚâŚâŚand be feeding the core heavy waterâŚâŚand be prepared to be locked in space while using the core.
Itâs still a nerf overall.
Solo exhumer mining in high sec is just bad now. I fly to a belt, maneuver into position, most of the time there is one, maybe two or if I am lucky 3 rocks within 15k. Pop the small rock, move the ship two more roids in range, pop the rock move the ship. I mean as if mining wasnât boring before⌠HOLY SPACESHIPS CCP!
I have fitted a MWD on the ship but so what?? Two rocks in range? LOL.
Just another sad attempt to get more PVP targets for the GANK BOYS, by making ORCAs practically necessary just so you donât lose your Fâing mind.
F*ck this
âFixed an issue where it was not possible to train the âMercoxit Ore Processingâ skill.â
Mmmmmmnope ⌠Still not working for me ⌠Canât train from IV to V on that skill ⌠Fail.
Ah ok, i see now.
Yeah, swap a rig for a processor overclocking and fit an LSE instead of the amps. And you will indeed have lost about 1-2k tank since pre patch.
Yeah the Skiff gets to fine state now with T2 Strip Miners, without it you have a loss on yield and tank (except you go for 2 MLUs of course then its more but even lesser yield).
Good morning CCP_Psych
I am a fairly new player in Eve, I actually just got my skills up high enough to start piloting a Orca just before the changes were announced. I have never posted on the forums before, and honestly didnât want to add to the drama that is in these forums. I have been watching all the updates as they progressed and have withheld any judgement till I could get in the ships and truly test them out. I read absolutely every post on these forms for this update just to try to make sure I am understanding before speaking.
Let me say honestly the Orca changes didnât seem to bad to me. I never saw the Orca as a mining ship I only saw it as a way to boost my friends, and provide a easier offload of collected ore for them. Even when the compression changes were being discussed I thought it was a interesting idea.
Next is of course the waste mechanic, honestly I donât mind it, yes I was a little disappointed that I would be wasting some ore but I thought the implementation of a pvp mining mechanic into the game was interesting enough to have to put up with waste in regular mining, plus we were promised higher yeilds overall (I havenât gotten a chance to do my normal mining session since update to verify personally although I hear the procurers mining yield even ended up getting nerfed) I will assume this is fine, and that it is exaggerated. Looking at the pictures in the forum on the mining waste generated by type C crystals I would say I think that is a bit lack luster. I guess I expected that to be a bit more aggressive.
Onto my only real gripe about the whole update so far, and the most inconvenient thing I have experienced. Can you please give me insight on why the procurer now feels like I am flying my Orca. It is so slow, slow to align, slow to warp, slow in travel. I understand you increased the weight and I expect something heavier to be a bit slower but wow. I donât feel like I could even dock up if a ganker came into the system before the ganker had me locked up. I am also concerned that any mining yield bonus the ship might have gotten will be completely nerfed by the slow nature of the ship. I donât want to use a retriever or converter I like the defensive capabilities of the procurer especially as a solo person mining away. I am glad to see in this post above it looks like that will be addressed a bit, I just hope it is enough, because as it stands currently the ship is really just unusable for my intended purpose. I feel Iâd be better suited putting weapons on it and going into stealth PvP miner kills. Lol
On a positive and uplifting note I do love the new sounds, and visuals. I really enjoyed the reprocessing skills update it made that much more convinent work with and skill into. I used to hate using mining crystals (kinda still do) but they are much better now I can go out with 1 type instead of 3-4 types. Although I still donât know if the rewards of using them outweighs the cost and inconvenience of having to purchase and carry them around.
Please donât kill the Procurer.

You nailed it, you have your answer.
the Procurer and Skiff will get an align time change shortly, expect it to be around 20% better. Beyond that they made it slower to align on purpose, making it different from the other mining ships.
They felt that miners were only choosing the âtankierâ ships, so they made them worse to use to encourage âchoiceâ.
not so, itâs like using a chainsaw vs a pinsaw.
one cuts through fast and removes lots of wood, but causes a lots of wastage
other cuts slow and remove much less wood, but has very little wastage
same is true with drills, bigger removes more, smaller removes less, but more precisely
first you failed to understand the 40% and 34% CHANCE of residue/Wastage production.
as noted itâs a chance you might cause wastage/residue, but itâs only per cycle, not 100% of the time on a rock.
as some have shown here in this topic, you might have 1 in 8 bad rolls, or you could as some have 1 in 20 bad rolls. Thats one lost yield amount from the remaining ore resource, not from what youâve already mined.
itâs a player choice to use slow, low yield T1, use ORE high yield no wastage, but higher isk cost, or use T2 with crystals for higher yield with a 33.3% or 40% (depending on crystal used) of wasting ore left in the rock per cycle.
so many misconvere how this works, and fail to see you can gain hugely from this, but still have a chance of wastage depending on you luck.
I see that InterBus Courier missions remain broken.
One thing is clear⌠there are so many opinions, insights, explanations etc. that communication could be improved. FI suggestion on HOW to spec your ships after the changes. What exactly the wast thing is/does.
I turned off the automatic subscr. renewal for Eve.
(also got a refund for BF2042 after 20 min of disastrous play)
What is actually wrong with you CCP?
At this point i could write pages of suggestion, feedback and bugreports. I could post on reddit or chat on Discord i can theroycraf with friends and have fun chat about the future of eve around a bbq and a fireplace. All of that are things i loved to do.
But repetetly IGNORING the playerbase, forcing absolutly hated changes onto the liveserver and on top of that having those insulting comments in my head about âRorqual mining is not a god given rightâ all of That has took my excitement about eve away. I was hyped for Fanfest but i am not going. I am not enjoying anything i wrote in the beginning anymore. Why? because all the Changes you have done the past 2 years ended up making things worse. Just like this patch that was supposed to fix everything.
I am heartbroken and i seriously hope that SOMONE at CCP will read this and take it to heart. I will be excited for Fanfest 2023 but first you need to give me back the Game i loved.
Lived in null most of my Eve career, the tank was never the main reason I preferred a proc/skiffâno amount of tank matters if caught. It was always about the faster alignment and ability to get out.
Love the new visuals. And hope they hope steadfast in the waste/residual mechanicâitâs a fantastic way to discourage min/max that always favored larger groups.
