Version 19.11 - General Feedback

You broke moons by the way. Millions of M3 missing from every r32 pull lmao. Good job.

This is the truth. All the people moaned and groaned and cried about the changes without realizing that in the end its an overall buff and is actually good.

Too many people were focused on the “Not another Rorqual Nerf” and “Oh nooo waste, im losing stuff” aspects without realizing that its not as bad once you actually look at it.

Also, some people are just really bad at math.

Sooo, when are we getting the ice belts fixed? I can see at least one that ran out yesterday and still today shows up in the system but no ice shows under it. Not to mention it is still visible on agency when nothing is in space.

Do you even mine? If you care about what you’re doing in the game and you see it being so utterly blatantly badly ****** up and redeveloped over and over again then perhaps you’d understand.

Bitter Vet much? If you only spew hatred towards anyone that has a different view OR an opinion that differs from yours Why in the Nine Hells of Curse are you here?

A bitter vet is someone who hates the game and just can’t stop raging about it, which is the exact opposite of what I’m doing and actually what the ones are doing I’m replying to. Seems logic isn’t your best thing.

Also, where am I “spewing hatred”. Calling someone uninformed is not hatred, unless you’re a SJW ofc.

Let me clear up what this update means, if you are an Orca Driving 4 skiff using 5 alt miner in high sec with mindlink.

This update changes nothing. Ignore the Industrial module and go about your business as you once did with A-II crystals. That is all.

Edit: oh and now you can only hold 2 skiffs in your orca. So there is that. And your Drones are useless. Ok this is pretty much a nerf.

As i predicted a completly unnecessery change to calm the waves and contradicting the original intention of the patch.
while not adressing the real issue of the LiC costing a highslot, beeing expensive fitting wise and neither granting enough defense to compensate for the impedence bonis nor giving other bonis to to increase the orcas support potential to an equal level to the prepatch situation.

Hello! I know this wasn’t addressed to me, but felt like replying anyway! I regularly mine between my other activities, and maintain infrastructure and programs for fellow miners in my alliance!

That out of the way, this change is a net buff for a good chunk of mining activities, while unfortunately an oblique downward balance movement on the Orca and Rorqual(though they do gain some on boosting and self-rep capability, I recently made a boosting orca with a self-rep capability of about 800-900 effective reps per second with a two minute cap life! That ms quite an impressive bit of self-sustain that it couldn’t get before!)

Skiff and Procurer did get hit pretty hard but I’ve already come up with CHEAP fittings that beat out their old tank values now that both can reasonably fit a large shield extender(TWO OF THEM EVEN ON THE SKIFF!)

New covetor is mining at the same(roughly) rate as the pre-patch hulk did, as is the mackinaw! Isn’t that nifty?

And the hulk… my god the Hulk… is a ■■■■■■■ beauty to behold. Quite substantial bump to yield and duration reductions, all while being able to fit a 60k ehp passive tank? Yes. Just, yes.

Alright waste… has been a non-issue thus far for me and mine, and many discussions have popped up in my alliance on when to use which type of crystal, depending on the waste volumes they can create! The consensus currently is that, in groups of 6 or more barges or exhumers with a boosting support, A types are the best option as the extra time on field us balanced out by man power, and 5 or less, boosted or not, B types are the best option!

Many of mine are quite excited for the future, and are ready to ramp things back up with exceptional delight.

@CCP_Psych
What is the expected timeline for he drone role bonus on the Procurer/Skiff will be fixed?
Currently, the in-game ghost fitting window states the dps of about 158 dps where it should actually be around 238 dps (5 x hammerhead 2, relevant skills at level 5).

Completely agreed. CCP doing a u-turn is a little disheartening. Why this and not Quantum Cores?

Oh I think others in the thread has proven that wrong already with some very constructive answers to your socalled logical assumptions.

Your own quote:
Remember, the only players who want waste gone are either:

  • uninformed
  • people who run alt/bot armies
  • sock puppets for a nullblock leader

So per your logical thinking there are only 3 alternatives to disagree with you - but of course writing it like you do in that quote is a ‘Class Act’ and the highest form of ‘positive reply’ to a concern that runs through this entire thread.

I’ve played this game for 11 years and I used to play 1 toon - just like you(?) and I’ve been through all the changes since 2010 to mining to new ships for mining, to specialising purposes for different ships, and forcing myself to rethink of new ways of mining when my old fave ship didn’t fit the bill anymore…

The changes over the last couple of years have just seemed so UN-tested, so badly implemented it has left me with the overall impression that the Devs have stopped playing the game altogether and forgotten about what made Eve unique AND fun.

I fully agree with you  But again the release is buggy as shite and that’s where I’m starting to get very annoyed - especially when they proclaim it ‘The Age of Prosperity’ after some 2 years of Limbo.

I feel with all the bugs upon release they should perhaps have waited a bit and at the very least tested it 100% before deploying it to Tranquility.

It’s the tendency towards these half-baked releases I’m very very annoyed about.

Yeah. Uh, CCP? Do you think maybe you could fix this issue of ice belts not spawning any ice?

Its kinda my primary source of income. And its kinda important to keep those new industrial cores running.

Also kinda important for fuel for player stations.

Yeah. We kinda need that stuff…

Fair enough, and I can see where that frustration is coming from.

Regarding ‘age of prosperity’ when the initial information on the changes came out, I read it as, largely a start on the road to prosperity instead of as ‘boom, scarcity is over full stop’. Maybe its in interpretation. Ya know? I’ve been playing a few years now(I properly started in 2016), and have seen the Rorqual gigabuff, the repeated nerfs, survived scarcity, and so on… and I’m seeing the light at the end. We aren’t there YET… but I’m seeing it getting closer.

On the note of buggy mess… well… yeah… frankly though its a miracle the 2003 code basis even still functions at all… so I personally give them a bit more leeway than some others probably do. Fairly or not, I really can’t say.

Is this change on sisi?

Yes, to be slower and tastier Prey.

You want to share that Hulk fitting?

Give me a moment, gotta dig out my laptop, would use home pc but in the middle of an upgrade so its out of commission until that’s done.

I gave it a fair chance, tried out the 3 barges, the porpoise and the orca. Some changes are good, some not.

The three mining barges have improved mining yield overall. Personally I would have preferred to see that in shortened cycle times instead of higher volume. That the covetor fills up its mining hold in two cycles with B2 crystals, at 4 minutes total, is perhaps something that should be reviewed. The orca will get mothballed for the time being (heavy water consumption is a bit too much for hisec use), the porpoise will see some use.

The shape and size of the asteroid belts with their “doubled” amounts, I see why you gave the covetor an extra mid. lol. Not what we wanted or needed, as it will most likely be used for an AB.

The mining animation when using a Strip Miner I is hilariously ugly, of course it comes from that mobile Echoes thingy with half liquid blobs of something gurgitating from an asteroid. The other ones e.g., on the Modulated Strip Miner II and the Scoop, on the other hand, are what we have come to expect from the Eve artists.

Yes, you did away with the different crystals we had. Some people think that’s so wonderful. I even spoke to a guy who said there should only be a single crystal for all ores… But they got replaced with 6 varieties for each segment (hisec, lowsec, nullsec, abyssal, moon this and that). What’s the current count ? 66 different crystals ? And their bpo’s names are a real pita. Could you come up with something more informative than a “A, B or C” at the very end of a very long name, please ? I fully understand that “A, B or C” is the current range of the imagination, fitting into the square peg square hole approach some seem to love. Readjusting column sizes to find the right copy to put into invention is a minor annoyance, but it is an annoyance.

The major part of the feedback is of course “what is it good for” ? Will it help the economy ? And when we, the players, talk about the Economy, it’s about the prices of the ships we want to replace when we lose them as we’re supposed to. Do you think the prices of ships will become more reasonable ? Will this solve the headaches in nullsec ? Why does it take another 6 months to have another look at t1 battleship blueprints, and faction blueprints, to see if it was such a great idea after all to add new, expensive and rare components that belong on tech2 ship bpc’s ? Is this, the reshuffled number tweaking on mining ships, the carrot that will bring back the players to the game ? An exciting new waste mechanic ? A waste mechanic we cannot even influence via skills and aptitude - which makes it more akin to a tax, not to a game mechanic. Do you think that keeping your foot down on dreads, (super)caps and titans is going to solve a problem that could have easily and more elegantly been tackled in far more entertaining ways ? Halving the PI requirements is not doing anything for the game or the mood of its player base.

With the scarcity phase two elements were introduced into New Eden: a glass ceiling for those of us who didn’t have dreads/caps yet, and a glass basement for those who just started playing. And that didn’t change with this game update. We honestly and urgently need something better.

Expecting (many of) us to be psyched about this ratatouille is not a god-given right…
