Version 20.06 - General Feedback

This patch is crap. Broke the game as these patches usually do. have to keep restarting before i can even see anything

Agree. This AIR Career System is just good, really good. Whichever developer was the main creative brain behind it is a person with a solid grasp of player psychology and how to get players to spend more time in ships in space. The incentive tiers are well constructed. Dear Dev, where have you been for the past two years? Now, please show low-sec and null-sec equal amounts of love in the faction warfare redesign and the heraldry system. But nice work.

Feedback;

At first my single game client would lag tremendously while undocked when having low settings and with directx 12 turned off.

Now today after changing the game settings to High along with downloading the full game client and also enabled Hardware Rendering, also having Directx 12 Turned On.
The game no longer lags while undocked.

No driver was updated outside of what the launcher provided.

Was running abyssals and ended up in one where everything was really dark. The problem being obstacles that were completely invisible. Coming to a standstill by flying into something you can’t see in a frigate while fighting a battleship is a problem. Got very lucky and made it through, but this needs to be looked at.

Why does the agency recommend training skill plans before doing the career agents? You can do them with even less skills than what alphas currently start with on day one. So, what’s the point of telling them this if it’s unnecessary?

@QuakeGod could this be a contributing factor as to why so many players in rookie help chat haven’t done the career agents?

Also, bonus points for creating a button that essentially does nothing. If you click on start conversation, the agent just tells you to meet them in person.

Most new players haven’t done the career agents because they don’t even know they exist. Why do they not know they exist? Because they skipped the tutorial. The very last thing the tutorial does is lead you directly to your first career agent.

What needs to happen is CCP needs to make it to where when you complete the tutorial, you get some kind of achievement or badge, and you cannot join Rookie Help without that achievement or badge. That would cut down on the sheer number of players in Rookie Help who are too lazy to do the tutorial or think they know it all. They skip the tutorial, then immediately start asking a thousand questions in Rookie Help about basic game mechanics.

You can’t help those who won’t help themselves. If someone wants to be an idiot or know-it-all and skip the tutorial, then they can beg for help in NPC corp chat or local. Those of us who help out in Rookie Help have better things to do. There are other players in Rookie Help who are actually trying to learn, and our time would be better used helping them.

Running 3 accounts I am using less memory with DirectX 12 enabled (85% enabled, 95% disabled) but alt-tabbing between the accounts is very slow (4 seconds) with DirectX 12 enabled. With DirectX 12 disabled alt-tabbing is almost instantaneous.

Hi, How I found to overcome this slow alt-tabbing between accounts was that I had made them all open in window mode and instead of using alt-tab I was double clicking on the top of the client window and it was reducing the window to the lowest size then I was able to double click on the 2nd account or 3rd ect. This would leave the 1st account in the background while the 2nd or 3rd account would be ontop and active leaving no lag.

Switching between accounts via using the Window Mode Game Client Instead of Alt-Tab

Sample of no lag when switching between acccounts

Provide a button to enable (on request) the launcher system notifications, and default to off. Your launcher has no business sending system notifications about an update without prior user input.

The compact mode is useless on Inventory window. The only window really desperately need it.

I will post here, don’t know where else I can.
After all Industry updates and resource distribution in null sec should be ZERO high sec space Ore in belts.
Then someone care to explain why in -0.8 Null sector space in Asteroid belts there are Pyroxeres and Kernite Ore’s, but there isn’t Arkonor and Bistot? There is ZERO null sec Ore in null sec, but plenty of High sec ore.

i just reverted back to old/original UI. it doesnt have pretty neon lights but its better.

the pretty planets make PI almost impossible on some planet types. also, i wonder if they realize how many players use potato mode and turn off sound. seems like a lot of effort that doesnt add anything to gameplay

That’s my biggest concern, the game looks good already it’s the total lack of content that’s hurting my enjoyment levels at present. Can’t mine as much, can’t rat as much, can’t build faction/pirate stuff as easily, can’t build caps at all… So much content removed, yet nothing to replace it and rather than provide content and new playstyles we get patches like this.

Uhhh…Destiny…??

Space is dark.

Why not? My personal experience is that I can mine more than ever because the belts, fields, moons all spawn more. And compression makes the mechanics of mining more efficient.

High sec ore in Null?

One of the achievements in this lovely new AIR stuff is to join a corporation. How about we default that to “completed” for every single pilot that is not in an NPC corporation. Either that, or auto-default it to complete for every single person because you are part of an NPC corporation after the tutorial. Either way, it is silly to force pilots like mine to leave the corp they are a part of only to rejoin just to check a box. And yeah, I could ignore it, but the OCD/completionist side of me is rearing his ugly head.

Am I the only one who can’t find any Mining Expeditions in Minmatar space? It feels like they’re not spawning.
